We used the Simulator of the Human Intestinal Microbial Ecosystem (SHIME) to explore seasonal effects on n‐3 fatty acid metabolism by human fecal microbiota. Samples collected in summer and winter were inoculated into the SHIME, simulating the ileum and three colon regions.
