Microbubble generation for PIV seeding

open access: yes, 2016
A new device for microbubble generation using small-scale unsteady cavitation of supersaturated water is presented. Cavitation is created in a radial diffuser with a directed outlet for inlet/saturation pressures ranging from 300 to 1000 kPa.

Roles of histone lysine methylation in neurodevelopment and related disorders

open access: yesIbrain, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract centers on the theme of dynamic balance and systematically outlines the role of histone lysine methylation in neurodevelopment and related disorders. The figure first presents two key classes of regulators that control this balance—“writers” and “erasers”—and then indicates how interactions among different epigenetic ...

Damage on a Solid–Liquid Interface Induced by the Dynamical Behavior of Injected Gas Bubbles in Flowing Mercury

open access: yesFluids
Microbubbles have been applied in various fields. In the mercury targets of spallation neutron sources, where cavitation damage is a crucial issue for life estimation, microbubbles are injected into the mercury to absorb the thermal expansion of the ...
