Effect of Pulse Shaping on Subharmonic Aided Pressure Estimation In Vitro and In Vivo. [PDF]
OBJECTIVES: Subharmonic imaging (SHI) is a technique that uses the nonlinear oscillations of microbubbles when exposed to ultrasound at high pressures transmitting at the fundamental frequency ie, f METHODS: Eight waveforms with different envelopes were ...

Pharmaceutical delivery can be noninvasively targeted on-demand by microbubble (MB) assisted focused ultrasound (FUS). Passive cavitation detection (PCD) has become a useful method to obtain real-time feedback on MB activity due to a FUS pulse.

On the design and simulation of an airlift loop bioreactor with microbubble generation by fluidic oscillation [PDF]
Microbubble generation by a novel fluidic oscillator driven approach is analyzed, with a view to identifying the key design elements and their differences from standard approaches to airlift loop bioreactor design.

Ultrasound-induced microbubble coalescence [PDF]
We studied the interaction of ultrasound contrast agent bubbles coated with a layer of lipids, driven by 0.5 MHz ultrasound. High-speed photography on the submicrosecond timescale reveals that some bubbles bounce off each other, while others show very fast coalescence during bubble expansion.

Polymer Mechanochemistry in Microbubbles
AbstractPolymer mechanochemistry is a promising technology to convert mechanical energy into chemical functionality by breaking covalent and supramolecular bonds site‐selectively. Yet, the mechanochemical reaction rates of covalent bonds in typically used ultrasonication setups lead to reasonable conversions only after comparably long sonication times.

Reversal of aging-induced increases in aortic stiffness by targeting cytoskeletal protein-protein interfaces [PDF]
BACKGROUND: The proximal aorta normally functions as a critical shock absorber that protects small downstream vessels from damage by pressure and flow pulsatility generated by the heart during systole.

Methods for Rapid Characterization of Tunable Microbubble Formulations
To optimize microbubble formulations for clinical applications, the size distribution, concentration, and acoustic intensity must be rapidly measurable to allow for the successful iteration of microbubble design. In this paper, a comprehensive method was
