Segmented Therapeutic Delivery via Acoustic Microbubble Relay
An acoustically driven, modular segmented delivery system is presented to overcome mechanical limitations of conventional microcatheters. Oscillating microbubbles generate directional streaming that enables continuous, targeted transport across open, angled segments.

Surface contact of bound targeted microbubbles
For molecular imaging using ultrasound contrast agents, targeted microbubbles are designed with specific ligands linked to the coated shell. Research is ongoing to determine the binding force of targeted microbubbles and to distinguish bound from unbound

Therapeutic Applications of Stimuli‐Based Release and Engineering of Extracellular Vesicles
This review summarizes the effects of endogenous and exogenous stimuli, their effects on the natural release of extracellular vesicles, as well as their uptake and release. It also gives an overview of stimuli‐responsive EVs and their therapeutic applications. Extracellular vesicles (EVs), nano‐ to microsized lipid bilayer membrane‐bound particles, are

Microbubble dynamics in brain microvessels.
Focused ultrasound stimulation of microbubbles is being tested in clinical trials for its ability to deliver drugs across the blood-brain barrier (BBB). This technique has the potential to treat neurological diseases by preferentially delivering drugs to

Nano-microbubble flotation of fine and ultrafine chalcopyrite particles
As is well known to mineral processing scientists and engineers, fine and ultrafine particles are difficult to float mainly due to the low bubble-particle collision efficiencies. Though many efforts have been made to improve flotation performance of fine

Effects of intra-arterial microbubbles
By means of a partial extracorporeal bypass, incorporating a bubble counting chamber, measured quantities of oxygen and of air microbubbles, having average diameters of 100 and 76 µ, respectively, were introduced into the carotid arteries of dogs.

Understanding the Structure and Mechanism of Formation of a New Magnetic Microbubble Formulation
Magnetic nanoparticles and ultrasound contrast agents have both been used as vehicles for therapeutic delivery. More recently, magnetic microbubbles have been developed as a new theranostic agent which combines the advantages of the individual carriers ...

Syntactic foam from silver coated microbubbles [PDF]
A low density syntactic foam made from a blend of a polyimide resin and silver coated glass microbubbles has been evaluated. Foams prepared from the silver coated glass microbubbles have more than twice the thermal conductivity of foams made from ...
