An approach to MOFaxanes by threading ultralong polymers through metal–organic framework microcrystals

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Mechanically interlocked architecture has inspired the fabrication of numerous molecular systems, such as rotaxanes, catenanes, molecular knots, and their polymeric analogues. However, to date, the studies in this field have only focused on the molecular-

Study on the microcrystal cellulose and the derived 2D graphene and graphene microcrystal

open access: yes, 2023
Abstract Microcrystal cellulose (MCC) is a green and sustainable resource that widely exists in various lignocellulose species in percentage 10–30%. The fine powder of MCC is often discarded in industrial productions that use lignocellulose as feedstock.

Scientific problem of metal melts. Solutions

open access: yesЛитьë и металлургия, 2019
In the existing theories of liquid state of metals and alloys the basic structural element is atom. It creates a serious problem in scientific understanding of the mechanism of process of melt and properties of metal melts.

Microcrystal manipulation with laser tweezers [PDF]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section D Biological Crystallography, 2013
X-ray crystallography is the method of choice to deduce atomic resolution structural information from macromolecules. In recent years, significant investments in structural genomics initiatives have been undertaken to automate all steps in X-ray crystallography from protein expression to structure solution.

Protocol for the use of focused ion-beam milling to prepare crystalline lamellae for microcrystal electron diffraction (MicroED)

open access: yesSTAR Protocols, 2021
Summary: We present an in-depth protocol to reproducibly prepare crystalline lamellae from protein crystals for subsequent microcrystal electron diffraction (MicroED) experiments.

Elasticity of microcrystals

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 1975
Acoustic velocities for a very small crystal are presented. The longitudinal velocities in the .3 mm single crystal of quartz are accurate to about 1–2%. The technique involves only optical measurements and is based on analysis of Brillouin scattering.

Design and In Vivo Pharmacokinetic Evaluation of Triamcinolone Acetonide Microcrystals-Loaded PLGA Microsphere for Increased Drug Retention in Knees after Intra-Articular Injection

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2019
A novel polymeric microsphere (MS) containing micronized triamcinolone acetonide (TA) in a crystalline state was structured to provide extended drug retention in joints after intra-articular (IA) injection.

Ni and Mo enrichment mechanisms in framboidal pyrite during methane-release events (Baiyun Sag, South China Sea)

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science
Framboidal pyrite, a common form of authigenic pyrite in marine sediments, forms through the co-precipitation of equant, equidimensional microcrystals that can effectively sequester trace elements.

Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact

An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

Redirecting Excited‐State Proton Transfer Through Supramolecular Polymerization in Nanoconfinement

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Supramolecular confinement redirects the excited‐state proton transfer pathway of an amphoteric emitter. In water, the molecule undergoes ESPD, whereas co‐assembly with γ‐cyclodextrin forms nanotubes that template slip‐stacked emitter pairs and enable ESIMPT. Structural and photophysical characterization of the assemblies shows that the preorganization
