Machine Learning Driven Window Blinds Inspired Porous Carbon‐Based Flake for Ultra‐Broadband Electromagnetic Wave Absorption

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by the regulation mechanism of window blinds, this study designs an electromagnetic wave‐absorbing metamaterial. By introducing the magneto‐electric coupling concept and integrating it with an artificial intelligence‐based data‐driven collaborative optimization strategy, the material optimizes impedance matching performance and enhances loss ...

Pearl‐Like Bioinspired Coating Enables Regulation of Mg Degradation for Osteoporotic Bone Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, inspired by pearl architecture, we developed a layered Ca–P “brick” and Fn‐mimetic peptide “mortar” coating on Mg alloys. The Ca–P layer moderates corrosion and offers mineral cues, while the peptide enhances adhesion and regulates immune‐vascular responses.

Multi‐Force‐Driven Self‐Recoverable SWIR Mechanoluminescence for Underwater Communication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study represents the first demonstration of self‐recoverable mechanoluminescent (ML) within a single material across diverse mechanical modes, enabled by the synergistic coupling of piezoelectric and triboelectric effects. Through a combinatorial doping approach, the MgNb2O6 crystal exhibits breakthrough short‐wavelength infrared ML performance ...

Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact

An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

Synchrotron microcrystal native-SAD phasing at a low energy

open access: yesIUCrJ, 2019
De novo structural evaluation of native biomolecules from single-wavelength anomalous diffraction (SAD) is a challenge because of the weakness of the anomalous scattering.

Structural characteristics of carbon fiber with ultrahigh tensile strength and high modulus

open access: yesMaterials Research Express
To shed light for production of carbon fibers with even better tensile properties, the structure of carbon fiber with ultrahigh tensile strength and high modulus was investigated and compared with M40J using SEM, Raman, XRD and TEM.
