Size-dependent homogeneous linewidth of Z3 exciton absorption spectra in CuCl microcrystals [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
Size-dependent homogeneous linewidth of Z3 exciton absorption spectra in CuCl microcrystals was measured at 2 K by the pump-and-probe spectroscopy. Observation of the hole burning gave us the homogeneous linewidth.

Dynamic Supramolecular Polyurethane Elastomers Enabling Bioinspired Strain‐Adaptive Stiffening to Resolve the Softness–Strength Paradox

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Segmental‐level molecular engineering of a supramolecular polyurethane elastomer integrates strain‐adaptive chains, soft elastic segments, and dynamic hydrogen bonding motifs. This design reconciles skin‐like softness with muscle‐level strength, offering a sustainable and high‐performance material platform for next‐generation artificial skin and soft ...

Failure time and microcrack nucleation

open access: yes, 1999
The failure time of samples of heterogeneous materials (wood, fiberglass) is studied as a function of the applied stress. It is shown that in these materials the failure time is predicted with a good accuracy by a model of microcrack nucleation proposed ...

Helicalization of Covalent Organic Framework Nanofibers with Amplified Spin Polarizability for Boosting Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A non‐covalent chirality‐induced strategy via chiral solvents is presented to synthesize helical 2D COF nanofibers with high crystallinity, high chirality, and high spin polarization. The helical structure enhances the concentration of photogenerated charges, suppresses exciton recombination, and extends carrier lifetimes, thereby significantly ...

Purely excitonic lasing in ZnO microcrystals: Temperature-induced transition between exciton-exciton and exciton-electron scattering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Since the seminal observation of room-temperature laser emission from ZnO thin films and nanowires, numerous attempts have been carried out for detailed understanding of the lasing mechanism in ZnO.

Clotrimazole‐loaded PLGA microparticles for local drug delivery to the vagina: Shape does matter

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Clotrimazole‐loaded PLGA microparticles for intravaginal delivery. Abstract Background Intravaginal drug administration is the most promising strategy for treating vaginal infections to protect women's health, such as vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC). However, conventional vaginal formulations in the clinic face challenges such as drug leakage and low ...

Mechanism of magnetic field effect on hydrocarbon systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Purpose. The aim is to analyze the problem of preventing the asphalt-resin-paraffin deposits (ARPD) in the oil industry equipment and to justify application of paraffin control methods; to review modern approaches to ARPD problem and possible methods ...

Forcing the Side‐on π‐Coordination of a C≡C Triple Bond to Technetium Using the As,CC,As Alkyne Pincer Ligand 1,2‐Bis(2‐(diisopropylarsaneyl)‐4‐(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)Ethyne

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Technetium alkyne complexes have eluded isolation for decades with the only indicators for their existence being the isolation of vinylidene carbenes or their follow‐up reaction products despite plentiful of reports for neighboring elements. Stable, crystalline Tc(III) and Tc(V) alkyne complexes (and their Re analogs) have now been prepared and fully ...

Effect of Binder on Physical Properties of Extruded Activated Carbon and Its Application to Levofloxacin Adsorption

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Bamboo charcoal–based extruded activated carbons were prepared via molding, pre‐oxidation, carbonization, and steam activation, with coal tar, phenolic resin, and their mixtures employed as binders based on practical availability and technical feasibility. This study focused on the regulatory effects of binders on the mechanical properties and
