Convective condensation of R134a and R1234ze(E) inside microfin tube [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2023
Environmental concerns are forcing the replacement of the commonly used refrigerants and finding new fluids is a top priority. The hydro-fluoro-olefin (HFO) R1234ze(E), because of its smaller global warming potential (GWP) and shorter atmospheric ...

Micro-Scale Ice Shoveling Effect Induced by Magnetic-Responsive Microfins. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
This study develops a new de‐icing solution by constructing a magneticdriven moveable surface. A novel micro‐scale ice shoveling effect is induced by the localized destruction of the ice adhesion interface owing to the inhomogeneous surface deformation is demonstrated.

Condensation of Hydrocarbons in Compact Smooth and Microfinned Tubes [PDF]

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
A database for flowing condensation of three hydrocarbons, namely propane (R290), isobutane (R600a), and propylene (R1270), is extended by experimental tests in a smooth tube and two microfinned tubes with an increase of heat exchange area of 1.51 and 2.63, respectively. The outer diameter for all of the test tubes was 5 mm.

Parametric Evaluation of the Flow Boiling Heat Transfer Properties of R22 and R407c inside Horizontal Microfin Tube

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
The flow boiling heat transfer performance of R22 and R407c, in a microfin tube with a helix angle of 22° and an apex angle of 48°, was evaluated in a study. The study is aimed at investigating the impact of heat flux, mass flux, saturation temperature, and vapor quality on the heat transfer coefficient during flow boiling.
