Morphological study of microgametogenesis of Leucocytozoon simondi

Journal of Ultrastructure Research, 1970
The fine structure of the microgametocytes and microgametogenesis of Leucocytozoon simondi , a parasite of ducks and geese, was studied and compared to those of the related genus Plasmodia . The morphology of the microgametocyte of L. simondi is identical to that of avian malarial parasites.

Scanning Electron Microscopy of Eimeria tenella Microgametogenesis and Fertilization

The Journal of Parasitology, 1977
Microgametes of Eimeria tenella were observed in cecal tissue from infected chicks killed six days after inoculation with oocysts. Development from the microgamont stage to maturity was followed. We observed three commonly found, but distinctly different, stages in developing microgametes while they were still associated with microgamonts. In the first,

Ultrastructure of microsporogenesis and microgametogenesis in Brachypodium distachyon

Protoplasma, 2015
Brachypodium distachyon has emerged as a model system for forage grass and cereal grain species. Here, we report B. distachyon pollen development at the ultrastructural level. The process of microsporogenesis and microgametogenesis in B. distachyon follows the typical angiosperm pollen development sequence.

High voltage electron microscopy on microgametogenesis of Haemoproteus columbae

Zeitschrift fr Zellforschung und mikroskopische Anatomie, 1974
The microgametogenesis of Haemoproteus columbae was investigated by high voltage and conventional electron microscopy and the results were compared. The features of microgametogenesis which have become clear by high voltage electron microscopy include the distribution and arrangement of axonemes in the microgametocyte and the budding process and ...

Fine structure of leucocytozoon caulleryi during microgametogenesis and fertilization

Zentralblatt für Bakteriologie, Mikrobiologie und Hygiene. 1. Abt. Originale. A, Medizinische Mikrobiologie, Infektionskrankheiten und Parasitologie, 1984
The fine structure of microgametogenesis and fertilization in Leucocytozoon caulleryi was studied. When the peripheral blood of chickens containing mature gametocytes was withdrawn or ingested by Culicoides arakawae , differentiation of the microgametocytes began immediately.

Electron microscope studies of microgametogenesis in coccidia and related groups

Zeitschrift fr Parasitenkunde, 1972
The fine structure of the microgamonts and microgametes of coccidia and related groups was investigated and is herein described and diagrammatically depicted. Particular attention is given to the developmental processes during the differentiation of the microgametes. The species included in the study are: Eimeria perforans, E. maxima, E.

Arabidopsis exocyst subunit SEC6 is involved in cell plate formation during Microgametogenesis

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2022
Cytokinesis during pollen mitosis I is critical for cell division and differentiation in the male gametophyte development, but the vesicle trafficking mechanisms in this process are largely unknown. Exocyst is an octameric tethering complex which plays multiple important roles in plant cell vesicle trafficking.

Fine structural study of the microgametogenesis of Eimeria auburnensis

Zeitschrift fr Parasitenkunde, 1969
The microgametogenesis of Eimeria auburnensis from experimentally infected calves killed 16 to 18 days after inoculation was investigated with the electron microscope. Early microgametocytes had nuclei with compact nucleoli and relatively few electron-dense masses.

Mitochondrial atp6 transcript editing during microgametogenesis in male-sterile sorghum

Current Genetics, 2001
A marked reduction of mitochondrial atp6 transcript-editing capability in sorghum anthers and pollen has been invoked as a factor in the loss of viability of male gametophytes in lines carrying the IS1112C male-sterile cytoplasm. We initiated a systematic examination of transcript editing of sorghum atp6 during microgametogenesis, from microspores ...
