Mode-switching induced super-thermal bunching in quantum-dot microlasers
The super-thermal photon bunching in quantum-dot (QD) micropillar lasers is investigated both experimentally and theoretically via simulations driven by dynamic considerations.

Gold nanorod plasmonic upconversion microlaser [PDF]
Plasmonic-photonic interactions have stimulated significant interdisciplinary interest, leading to rapid innovations in solar design and biosensors. However, the development of an optically pumped plasmonic laser has failed to keep pace due to the difficulty of integrating a plasmonic gain material with a suitable pump source.

Controlling the gain contribution of background emitters in few-quantum-dot microlasers
We provide experimental and theoretical insight into single-emitter lasing effects in a quantum dot (QD)-microlaser under controlled variation of background gain provided by off-resonant discrete gain centers.

Lead halide perovskite vortex microlasers
Integration of III-V semiconductor microlasers into modern Si or Si3N4 based photonic integrated circuits remains a challenge. Here, the authors demonstrate a perovskite vortex microlaser with highly directional outputs and well-controlled topological ...

High-Dimensional Quantum Key Distribution by a Spin-Orbit Microlaser
Quantum key distribution offers a promising avenue for establishing secure communication networks. However, its performance is significantly hampered by the conventional two-level information carriers (i.e., qubits) due to their limited information ...

Condensation of thresholds in multimode microlasers
We show from ab initio laser theory that by choosing an appropriate spatial pump profile, many different spatial modes of a typical microlaser can be turned on at the same pump energy, substantially increasing the number, N, of simultaneous lasing modes.

This work demonstrates a paradigm‐shifting strategy to simultaneously achieve broadband wavelength tunability and single‐mode control within a single perovskite microwire structure. Using a facile heating‐assisted solid–solid anion‐exchange strategy, we synthesized phase‐pure CsPbClxBr3‐x microwires that exhibit the widest reported continuous lasing ...

Reconfigurable symmetry-broken laser in a symmetric microcavity
The directional lasing emission in whispering gallery microcavities typically resorts to breaking the structure symmetry. Here the authors demonstrate a reconfigurable symmetry-broken microlaser in a symmetric ultrahigh-Q whispering gallery microcavity ...
