Calibration of a Microphone Array Based on a Probabilistic Model of Microphone Positions
2020This paper addresses a novel method for calibrating microphone positions included in a microphone array. The performance of microphone array processing deteriorates due to two factors: (1) differences between predetermined position and actual positions of the microphones. (2) sound source signal overlaps in frequency and time.

Position and Trajectory Learning for Microphone Arrays
IEEE Transactions on Audio, Speech and Language Processing, 2007In this paper, we tackle the problem of source localization by example. We present a methodology that allows a user to train a microphone array system using signals from a set of positions and trajectories and subsequently recall the localization information when presented with new input signals.

Microphone array (MA) involves several microphones positioned at diverse spatial locations. According to the sound propagation fundamentals, the multiple inputs can be handled to attenuate or to enhance the stemming signals from specific directions (desired signal) in the presence of demeaning noise sources (Levy et al.

Optimal positioning of sensors for a microphone array
Proceedings of ICASSP '94. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2002Sensor positioning has an important influence on the performance of array processing. The main contributions of the paper are the proposal of criteria to evaluate and to optimize the performance of an array of sensors through its geometric configuration, the number and the positions of the sensors.

Feed-forward active noise control system using microphone array
IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica, 2018Feedforward active noise control ( ANC ) system are widely used to reduce the wide-band noise in different application. In feedforward ANC systems, when the noise source is unknown, the misplacement of the reference microphone may violate the causality ...

A microphone array system includes a plurality of microphones and a sound signal processing part. The microphones are arranged in such a manner that at least three microphones are arranged in a first direction to form a microphone row, at least three rows of the microphones are arranged so that the microphone rows are not crossed each other so as to ...

A microphone array system for speech recognition
1997 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2002This paper proposes a microphone array system which realizes the following important functions for speech recognition: (i) SNR improvement, (ii) flat spectrum response for an arbitrary speaker position, and (iii) speech period detection in noisy speech. This microphone array system features time delay estimation using prewhitening signal processing, an

Criteria for positioning of sensors for a microphone array
IEEE Transactions on Speech and Audio Processing, 1995Sensor positioning has an important influence on the performance of array processing. The main contributions of this paper are criteria to evaluate and to optimize the performance of an array of sensors through its geometric configuration-the number and the positions of sensors. The distance between the observed and the desired directivity patterns has
