Functional models from limited data: A parametric and multimodal approach to anatomy and 3D kinematics of feeding in basking sharks (Cetorhinus maximus)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Basking sharks, Cetorhinus maximus (Gunnerus, Brugden [Squalus maximus], Det Kongelige Norske Videnskabers Selskabs Skrifter, 1765, vol. 3, pp. 33–49), feed by gaping their mouths and gill slits, greatly reorienting their cranial skeletons to filter food from water.

Dealing with Uncertainty in Microphone Placement in a Microphone Array Speech Recognition System

open access: yes, 2008
This paper investigates robustness to uncertain microphone\ud placements in an array beamformer front-end to a speech recognition\ud system. There are two general approaches to handling the placement\ud uncertainty: using the approximately known geometry

Analisis Jarak Microphone Array dengan Teknik Pemrosesan Sinyal Fast Fourier Transform Beamforming

open access: yesJurnal EECCIS (Electrics, Electronics, Communications, Controls, Informatics, Systems), 2015
The main problem in the application of the sound source detection is to estimate the angle of the wave or called as Direction Of Arrival (DOA) of Planewave.

Unpacking the Process of Integrating Sustainability into Management Control Systems: A Literature Review and an Analytical Framework

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In recent years, organizations are adapting their control systems to meet institutional demands for sustainability disclosure. However, the process of integrating sustainability within management control systems (MCSs) remains underexplored, despite extensive literature on sustainability controls.

Subordination of related party claims in insolvency: A suggestive framework for Asian regimes

open access: yesInternational Insolvency Review, EarlyView.
Abstract Related party loans, due to their inherent nature, warrant a higher threshold for scrutiny when compared to loans extended by unrelated parties. Why were these monies advanced as loans, carrying higher priority in insolvency, rather than being invested as share capital?

Microphone array shape calibration in diffuse noise fields

open access: yes, 2008
This correspondence presents a microphone array shape calibration procedure for diffuse noise environments. The procedure estimates intermicrophone distances by fitting the measured noise coherence with its theoretical model and then estimates the array ...

Cochlear Implantation in Autoimmune Inner‐Ear Disease: Outcome and Patient‐Reported Benefit

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that patients with secondary autoimmune inner‐ear disease (AIED) achieve significant improvements in speech perception and quality of life following cochlear implantation. Although AIED patients may show slightly lower performance in noisy environments compared to controls, their subjective hearing benefit converges with matched

Evaluation of Sensor Self-Noise in Binaural Rendering of Spherical Microphone Array Signals

open access: yes, 2020
Spherical microphone arrays are used to capture spatial sound fields, which can then be rendered via headphones. We use the Real-Time Spherical Array Renderer (ReTiSAR) to analyze and auralize the propagation of sensor self-noise through the processing ...

Multi‐Frequency Electrocochleography Results in Fewer Drop Alarms During Cochlear Implant Insertion

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
A novel multi‐frequency electrocochleography (ECochG) algorithm used during cochlear implant electrode insertion is associated with fewer drop alarms and an increase in optimal insertion track patterns. Multi‐frequency ECochG may provide a more accurate assessment of the cochlear microenvironment when compared to single‐frequency ECochG.
