Micropitting Generation Mechanism for Gears

open access: yesInternational Journal of Automation Technology, 2008
To determine the mechanism behind micropitting, we measured micropit shape occurring in surface durability test, based on the real contact area size formed by asperity interaction in surface roughness. Individual micropitting within surface roughness asperity does not exceed asperity size.

DETERMINATION OF POSSIBLE REASONS OF DEFECT FORMATION «MICROPITTING» IN HARD-ALLOY WIRE DRAWING INSTRUMENT IN WIRE DRAWING PROCESS

open access: yesЛитьë и металлургия, 2011
It is determined that during operation a hard wear along with uniform attrition occurs in working canal of die because of welding of metal particles to the material of die, what results in formation of separate microholes, their enlargement and further ...

Influence of Different Textures on Machining Performance of a Milling Tool

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, Volume 2020, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
Milling plays a significant role in the machining of aluminum alloy parts. However, in the milling process, the material easily adheres to the tip of the milling tool due to the high ductility and thermal deformation of the aluminum alloy; the machining efficiency and quality are hard to further improve.

Influence of Slide-Roll Ratio on Micropitting under Rolling-Sliding Contact in Base Oil and E-Axle Fluid

open access: yesTribology Online
The efficiency of electric vehicles (EVs) can be further enhanced by increasing the rotational speed of their motors. However, higher motor speeds may reduce the fatigue life of gear teeth, particularly through the formation of micropitting.

Micropits MEMS

open access: yesPädi Boletín Científico de Ciencias Básicas e Ingenierías del ICBI, 2019
Three sized Micropits were developed. Micropits were designed and fabricated using wet etching. MEMS fabrication consists of thin film deposition and patterned of several geometric structures. For Si substrate etching three layers SiO2/ Si3N4/ SiO2 were deposited and patterned. They were used as a mask.

A Study of Micropitting Generation Mechanism

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series C, 2008
In earlier report, the authors carried out surface durability test with carburized steel roller and carburized steel roller with shot peened by two different methods. After examination, some micropitting were observed on contact surface. In this study, we clarified the generation mechanism of micropitting by measuring the geometry of micropitting in ...

Micropitting Performance of an e-Axle Fluid under High-Speed Forced Lubrication Using a Three-Roller Test

open access: yesTribology Online
The growing demand for greater efficiency in electric vehicles requires e-axle gears to operate at higher rotational speeds while maintaining durability. However, high-speed operation promotes lubricant scattering and viscosity reduction, creating severe

DETERMINATION OF POSSIBLE REASONS OF FORMATION OF DEFECT «MICROPITTING» IN HARD-ALLOY DIE INSTRUMENT IN THE PROCESS OF WIRE DRAWING

open access: yesЛитьë и металлургия, 2011
It is established that during operating time in the working channel of die along with uniform scuffing the stable wear occurs as a result of welding of metal particles to die material, what leads to formation of separate micropockets.
