MicroRNA immunobiology: when microRNA chemists meet immunologists [PDF]
Although interdisciplinary research has been heralded as the engine of basic discovery for decades, many in the immunology community have been taken back by the recent marriage between microRNA (miRNA) and immunology. MicroRNAs were first discovered by Ambros and colleagues in 1993.1 They are small untranslated RNAs, highly conserved between different ...

xx xx. ABSTRACT Osseointegration of orthopedic and dental implants is influenced by local and systemic factors, including their physicochemical surface properties and the patient's overall health status. Titanium and its alloys have been a longstanding standard for bone implants due to their innate biocompatibility and mechanical properties.

MicroRNA-125b-5p mimic inhibits acute liver failure
miR125b-5p has been associated with acute liver failure. Here the authors show that this miRNA targets Keap1 and activates Nrf2 to inhibit liver cell death after APAP or FAS toxicity, plus they show that a miR125b-5p mimic can inhibit ALF in mice.

TranspoGene and microTranspoGene: transposed elements influence on the transcriptome of seven vertebrates and invertebrates [PDF]
Transposed elements (TEs) are mobile genetic sequences. During the evolution of eukaryotes TEs were inserted into active protein-coding genes, affecting gene structure, expression and splicing patterns, and protein sequences.
