We propose a simple model of pathologic microsatellite expansion, and describe an inherent self-repairing mechanism working against expansion. We prove that if the probabilities of elementary expansions and contractions are equal, microsatellite ...

This article reports the first genome sequence of a UK Alternaria brassicae isolate. Dual RNA‐sequencing profiling of A. brassicae‐infected Brassica juncea leaves identified differentially expressed genes involved in pathogenicity and host response pathways in moderately resistant Sej‐2 (2) and moderately susceptible Pusa Jaikisan cultivars.

We combined arboreal camera trapping and non‐invasive genetic tagging to estimate group size in the critically endangered northern muriqui (Brachyteles hypoxanthus) in Brazil's Atlantic Forest. Both methods provided complementary insights into group size and demographic structure, while differing in their cost‐effectiveness and sampling constraints ...

Genetic diversity of the Italian thoroughbred horse population
For over three centuries, thoroughbred (TB) horses have been selected exclusively for traits enhancing racing performances. Officially the TB origins can be genetically traced back along the male line due to the crossbreeding among 50 English royal mares

Programmed cell death and genetic stability in conifer embryogenesis [PDF]
Somatic embryogenesis, the generation of embryos from somatic cells, is a valuable tool for studying embryology. In addition, somatic embryos can be used for large-scale vegetative propagation, an application of great interest for forestry.
