Theory of a magnetic microscope with nanometer resolution

open access: yes, 2001
We propose a theory for a type of apertureless scanning near field microscopy that is intended to allow the measurement of magnetism on a nanometer length scale.

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Automating parasite egg detection: insights from the first AI-KFM challenge

open access: yesFrontiers in Artificial Intelligence
In the field of veterinary medicine, the detection of parasite eggs in the fecal samples of livestock animals represents one of the most challenging tasks, since their spread and diffusion may lead to severe clinical disease.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Vase-Life Monitoring System for Cut Flowers Using Deep Learning and Multiple Cameras

open access: yesPlants
Here, we developed a vase-life monitoring system (VMS) to automatically and accurately assess the post-harvest quality and vase life (VL) of cut roses.

Clinical Application of a Real-Time Telepathology System for Frozen Section Diagnosis in Comparison With Optical Microscope

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine, 2019
Background: The imbalance between the increasing demand of highly specialized service and the reduction of specialists able to release this service is a global challenge for Pathology.

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Les techniques d’identification inédites mobilisées par Edmond Locard : le graphoscope, le hastoscope et le synchrisiscope

open access: yesCriminocorpus, 2017
During the interwar period, men from Lyon’s police laboratory developed new microscopes in order to more efficiently fight crime. Graphoscope, hastoscope and synchrisiscope evolved at the climax of the structure Edmond Locard created in 1910.

Status of MICROSCOPE, a mission to test the Equivalence Principle in space

open access: yes, 2014
MICROSCOPE is a French Space Agency mission that aims to test the Weak Equivalence Principle in space down to an accuracy of $10^{-15}$. This is two orders of magnitude better than the current constraints, which will allow us to test General Relativity ...

Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.
