A microscopic model for solidification

open access: yes, 1999
We present a novel picture of a non isothermal solidification process starting from a molecular level, where the microscopic origin of the basic mechanisms and of the instabilities characterizing the approach to equilibrium is rendered more apparent than

Microscopic mechanisms of spin-dependent electric polarization in 3d oxides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We present a short critical overview of different microscopic models for nonrelativistic and relativistic magnetoelectric coupling including the so-called "spin current scenario", ab-initio calculations, and several recent microscopic approaches to a ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Identification of Malaria Parasites in Chasan Boesoirie General Hospital Ternate East Nusa Tenggara

open access: yesJournal of Health (JOH), 2016
Background: Malaria is still a global health problem especially in tropical countries, such as Indonesia. Based on survey 35% of the Indonesia population were live in endemic areas of malaria, such as Provinces of Maluku, North Maluku, Papua, West Papua,

The Comparative Efficacy of Endoscopic Versus Microscopic Approach in Myringotomy with Ventilation Tube Insertion

open access: yesKing Khalid University Journal of Health Sciences, 2020
Objectives: This study aimed to compare the outcomes of myringotomy and ventilation tube insertion when performed using endoscopic-assisted devices compared to the same surgery when performed using the traditional microscopic method.

Development of a Pedestrian Capacity Using a Movement Simulation Model in Malioboro, Yogyakarta, Indonesia

open access: yesASM Science Journal, 2022
The activity of pedestrian movement can be predicted by a pedestrian model. Pedestrian model would assign pedestrian lane characteristic, especially for capacity.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

DRACULA Microscopic Traffic Simulator [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The DRACULA traffic simulator is a microscopic model in that the vehicles are individually represented. The movement of vehicles in the network are represented continuously and updated every one second.

Universal spectral correlations of the Dirac operator at finite temperature [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Using the graded eigenvalue method and a recently computed extension of the Itzykson-Zuber integral to complex matrices, we compute the $k$-point spectral correlation functions of the Dirac operator in a chiral random matrix model with a deterministic ...

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...
