AHR‐Responsive Carbon Dots Orchestrate Skin Wound Healing and Colonic Mucosal Repair via Treg‐Mediated Macrophage Efferocytosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Guided by pharmacophore modeling and molecular docking, aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR)‐responsive carbon dots were synthesized. They bind directly to AHR and expand gut‐resident regulatory T (Treg) cells. Treg‐derived C‐C motif chemokine ligand 1 (CCL1) enhances macrophage efferocytosis, creating a pro‐regenetative niche that promotes colonic mucosal ...

NSUN2‐Mediated m5C Modification of TGFB1 in Trophoblasts Remodels Macrophage Function to Prevent URSA

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NSUN2 and m5C decline in URSA villous tissues. Trophoblast Nsun2 ablation disrupts macrophage‐mediated maternal‐fetal tolerance and triggers embryo resorption. Mechanistically, NSUN2‐YBX1 axis stabilizes m5C‐modified TGFB1 mRNA to maintain TGF‐β1 secretion and M2 polarization, and restoring this signaling rescues maternal‐fetal immune tolerance to ...

Supramolecular Zinc–Polyphenol Coordination Assemblies Mitigate Colonic Inflammation by Regulating Mucosal Barrier and Microbiome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A carrier‐free zinc‐coordinated polyphenol nanoplatform (ZnCA NPs) is designed as an “all‐in‐one” therapeutic strategy for intestinal inflammation. The ZnCA NPs exhibit enhanced colonic accumulation and broad‐spectrum reactive oxygen and nitrogen species scavenging.

Multifunctional Zinc Glycyrrhizinate‐Integrated Gel for Enhanced Probiotic Delivery and Alleviation of Acute and Spontaneous Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multifunctional oral delivery system—L. reuteri@ZGM—act as both a carrier and therapeutic adjuvant, providing ROS scavenging, and mucin‐interactive properties tailored to the IBD microenvironment. This bioactive gel safeguards L. reuteri from gastric degradation, enhances mucosal adhesion, and promotes long‐term retention at inflamed sites, thereby ...

Failure of Added Dietary Gluten to Induce Small Intestinal Histopathological Changes in Patients with Watery Diarrhea and Lymphocytic Colitis

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Gastroenterology, 1996
Lymphocytic colitis is a form of microscopic colitis usually characterized by watery diarrhea and often associated with biopsy-defined celiac disease. Two patients with lymphocytic colitis and normal small intestinal biopsies who were administered 40 g ...

An uncommon cause of unexplained nonbloody diarrhea: When mind knows eyes may see

open access: yesJournal of Digestive Endoscopy, 2016
Collagenous colitis (CC) is characterized by chronic secretory diarrhea with the apparently normal gross appearance of the colonic mucosa. A biopsy is usually diagnostic. The symptoms of CC appear most commonly in the elderly.

Upadacitinib Restrains the Pathogenic Fitness of CD4+ T Cells and Aberrant B Cell Programming in Optic Neuritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell profiling and functional perturbation reveal coordinated JAK1‐pSTAT3 downstream programs in optic neuritis, including MCL1‐dependent fitness of pathogenic CD4+ Tem cells and glycolysis‐linked, cholesterol‐sensitive B‐cell responses associated with RORA. Upadacitinib disrupts this reciprocal T‐B‐cell circuit and alleviates neuroinflammation,

Adhesion‐Enhanced Engineered Probiotic for Prolonged Intestinal Retention and Calprotectin‐Responsive IBD Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An intelligent engineered probiotic platform is developed for the precision management of inflammatory bowel disease. By integrating surface‐displayed adhesins with an inflammation‐responsive CAT‐SOD‐GPx tripartite fusion system and mucosal repair factors, this programmable system achieves prolonged intestinal retention and multi‐pronged therapy.

Use of budesonide in the treatment of microscopic colitis

open access: yesThe Saudi Journal of Gastroenterology, 2010
Collagenous colitis and lymphocytic colitis, the two types of microscopic colitis, cause watery diarrhea. Budesonide, a glucocorticoid medication with limited systemic availability, is commonly used to treat these illnesses.

Microscopic Colitis and Medication Use

open access: yesClinical Medicine Insights: Gastroenterology, 2010
Background The incidence of microscopic colitis (MC) is increasing, but its etiology remains unknown. Case reports and limited controlled data suggest that commonly prescribed drugs may be triggers. The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of
