Temporal monitoring of contamination in three sandy beaches from the 2019 oil spill near Cabo de Santo Agostinho, Northeastern Brazil [PDF]
In 2019, a massive oil spill impacted coastal ecosystems in eleven Brazilian states; these ecosystems were diverse with regard to their different geological settings (sandy beaches, rocky coasts, estuaries, tidal flats, mangroves, and reef systems) being

Development adjustment technology of extending life cycle for nearly-abandoned reservoirs [PDF]
Facing the challenges of extremely high water cut, developed preferential channels, highly dispersed remaining oil, and strong heterogeneity in nearly abandoned reservoirs, the study focuses on the 4-5 layer series of the North Block II(Oil Group No.

Microscopic plugging adjustment mechanism in a novel heterogeneous combined flooding system
In this study, novel pre-crosslinked gel particles were synthesized to form a new heterogeneous composite system with a weak alkaline-surfactant-polymer (ASP) system.

Mechanisms of microscopic displacement during enhanced oil recovery in mixed-wet rocks revealed using direct numerical simulation [PDF]
We demonstrate how to use numerical simulation models directly on micro-CT images to understand the impact of several enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods on microscopic displacement efficiency. To describe the physics with high-fidelity, we calibrate the

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
