Measuring and Modelling of the Traffic Flow at Microscopic Level

open access: yesPromet (Zagreb), 2004
The traffic flow theory is dealing with the better understandingof the traffic flow and its improvement. Most often, the researchedsubject was been the road traffic.

A Macroscopic Model of Heterogeneous Traffic Flow Based on the Safety Potential Field Theory

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
The macroscopic traffic flow model is the cornerstone of traffic flow theory and can be applied to investigate manytraffic planning and management issues.

Analysis and comparison of traffic flow models: a new hybrid traffic flow model vs benchmark models

open access: yesEuropean Transport Research Review, 2021
Background This paper compares a hybrid traffic flow model with benchmark macroscopic and microscopic models. The proposed hybrid traffic flow model may be applied considering a mixed traffic flow and is based on the combination of the macroscopic cell ...

From Heterogeneous Microscopic Traffic Flow Models to Macroscopic Models [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 2021
The goal of this paper is to derive rigorously macroscopic traffic flow models from microscopic models. More precisely, for the microscopic models, we consider follow-the-leader type models with different types of drivers and vehicles which are distributed randomly on the road.

A Microscopic Heterogeneous Traffic Flow Model Considering Distance Headway

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
The intelligent driver (ID) model characterizes traffic behavior with a constant acceleration exponent and does not follow traffic physics. This results in unrealistic traffic behavior. In this paper, a new microscopic heterogeneous traffic flow model is

Road Traffic Dynamic Pollutant Emissions Estimation: From Macroscopic Road Information to Microscopic Environmental Impact

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2020
Air pollution poses a major threat to health and climate, yet cities lack simple tools to quantify the costs and effects of their measures and assess those that are most effective in improving air quality.

Hybrid Solution Combining Kalman Filtering with Takagi–Sugeno Fuzzy Inference System for Online Car-Following Model Calibration

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Nowadays, the intelligent transportation concept has become one of the most important research fields. All of us depend on mobility, even when we talk about people, provide services, or move goods.

Applicability of the Future State Maximization Paradigm to Agent-Based Modeling: A Case Study on the Emergence of Socially Sub-Optimal Mobility Behavior

open access: yesSystems, 2023
Novel developments in artificial intelligence excel in regard to the abilities of rule-based agent-based models (ABMs), but are still limited in their representation of bounded rationality.

Classification and unification of the microscopic deterministic traffic models [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2015
We identify a universal mathematical structure in microscopic deterministic traffic models (with identical drivers), and thus we show that all such existing models in the literature, including both the two-phase and three-phase models, can be understood as special cases of a master model by expansion around a set of well-defined ground states.
