Analysis of slot-coupled transitions from microstrip-to-microstrip and microstrip-to-waveguides

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1997
This paper provides an accurate, versatile, and computationally efficient method for the analysis of slot-coupled transitions from microstrip-to-microstrip, and microstrip-to-rectangular and parallel-plate waveguides. The accuracy of this method is ensured by satisfying all the boundary conditions through a mixed electric-magnetic current integral ...

A Broadband and Vialess Vertical Microstrip-to-Microstrip Transition

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2012
A novel, broadband, vialess, and vertical microstrip-to-microstrip transition is proposed in this paper. The transition consists of two open-circuited microstrip resonators and a U-shaped resonant-slot on the common ground plane. A physics-based equivalent-circuit model is developed for interpreting its working mechanism and facilitating the design ...

Inverted microstrip and suspended microstrip with anisotropic substrates

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1982
This letter presents characteristics of the inverted microstrip and the suspended microstrip, with anisotropic substrates. The transverse transmission-line method combined with the mapping method and the variational technique in the space domain are used to analyze the impedance characteristics.

Rectangular resonators in inverted microstrip and suspended microstrip

International Journal of Electronics, 1992
Resonant frequency characteristics of rectangular resonators in a generalized shielded suspended substrate line are analysed using a rigorous spectral domain technique. The computed dominant mode resonant frequency of rectangular resonators in a suspended microstrip with centred dielectric, inverted microstrip and suspended microstrip are presented as ...

Transitioning between microstrip and inverted microstrip

IEEE Microwave and Guided Wave Letters, 1991
A broadband microstrip to inverted microstrip transition is described in which field matching between microstrip and inverted microstrip is obtained by gradually removing the dielectric at the transition so the E-field has a region over which to redistribute itself as it propagates from microstrip to inverted microstrip or vice versa.

Microstrip-to-Probe Fed Microstrip Antenna Transition

2018 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2018
This paper presents an accurate and simple method to model the transition between a probe-fed microstrip antenna and a microstrip circuit, assembled in a back-to-back configuration. With the aid of a full-wave electromagnetic simulation tool the two-port S-parameter matrix of the transition is calculated.

Microstrip/thick‐slot/microstrip transitions in millimeter waves

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2002
AbstractThis Letter deals with millimeter microstrip/thick‐slot/microstrip transitions. This kind of transition permits multilayer microstrip antenna arrays to feed. The objectives were to develop and to optimize this transition at 60 GHz, with the use of a low‐loss, low‐cost substrate.

Broadband Microstrip-to-Microstrip Vertical Transition Design

IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2016
This letter presents a broadband microstrip-to-microstrip vertical transition. Basically, the transition is based on broadside coupling between the upper and lower microstrip patches through a wide slot etched on the ground plane. In order to enhance bandwidth of the transition, a patch introducing a half wavelength resonance into the passband is added

Launcher and microstrip characterization

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 1976
A method for identifying scattering parameters of launchers and uniform microstrips is presented. It is shown that 8 complex measurements (magnitude and phase) on two microstrips which are different only in length, inserted between two launchers, can give, with suitable algebraic treatment, the S-parameters of either the microstrips and the launchers ...
