A procedure is presented for finding by successive approximation the current distribution, and thus the electromagnetic field, of the lowest mode of the microstrip transmission line. The approximation is valid provided that the strip is not too wide and the dielectric sheet not too thick. Each iteration consists of essentially solving two electrostatic

Vertical Microstrip-Microstrip Transition for Ultra Wideband Applications
2007 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference, 2007The design of an ultra wideband aperture-coupled vertical microstrip-microstrip transition is presented. The proposed transition exploits broadside coupling between exponentially tapered microstrip patches at the top and bottom layers via an exponentially tapered slot at the mid layer.

In this paper, a wideband vertical microstrip-to-microstrip transition designed with cross-coupled microstrip and slotline resonators is proposed. By utilizing two identical microstrip lines on top and bottom layers perpendicularly coupled with a uniform slotline resonator on the ground plane, a wideband filtering performance with three transmission ...

Passive Components in Inverted Microstrip and Suspended Microstrip Configurations
MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2005This paper reports the development and performance characteristics of a number of passive components in the inverted microstrip and the suspended microstrip configurations. These devices are fabricated at frequencies up to X-band. However, using proper scaling, devices at millimeter wave frequencies should be possible in these two configurations.

A highly accurate feed model for microstrip, dual patch microstrip and microstrip backfire antennas
Radio Science, 1991A new, more accurate model for the coaxial feed of microstrip, dual patch microstrip and microstrip backfire antennas is presented. In combination with the use of edge expansion functions in the method of moments this leads to a highly accurate analysis of these three types of antennas in a homogeneous medium.

Microstrip filter analysis using a microstrip waveguide model
Radio and Electronic Engineer, 1980The microstrip waveguide model has been successfully applied to a host of elementary discontinuity problems generally encountered in microstrip circuits. However, until now the efficiency of the model has never been proved for more complex distributed microstrip structures such as multiple element filters, where both the amplitude and the phase of the ...

Conformal microstrip antennas and microstrip phased arrays
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1974A new class of antennas using microstrips to form the feed networks and radiators is presented in this communication. These antennas have four distinct advantages: 1) cost, 2) performance, 3) ease of installation, and 4) the low profile conformal design. The application of these antennas is limited to small bandwidths.

Wideband compact microstrip antenna with capacitance microstrip feeding
2012 15 International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics, 2012We consider three models of compact wideband microstrip antennas (MSA) with radome to operate in the frequency range 1.2 to 1.65 GHz. They are characterized by different forms of ring-radiating patch and a weak capacitive coupling with the feeder microstrip line.

Miniaturized Microstrip Ring Hybrid with Defected Microstrip Structure
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2013ABSTRACTA method for miniaturization of microstrip rat‐race hybrid with the aid of “defected microstrip structure (DMS)” is proposed. Each transmission line section is loaded with cascaded DMS sections. This results in slow‐wave characteristics which in turn increases the electrical length of the line.
