Miniaturized low-profile filtering omnidirectional antenna design

open access: yesDianzi Jishu Yingyong
A miniaturized omnidirectional microstrip filter antenna is designed. The antenna is composed of a bandpass filter and a microstrip antenna, which share a ground plane to reduce the size and are connected by gap coupling. The bandpass filter is etched at

Microstrip Diplexers With Double-Stub Bandpass Filters

open access: yes, 2011
This paper presents a microstrip diplexer using two Double-Stub Band-Pass Filters (DS-BPFs), composed of several double-stubs connected to a main microstrip line. Each DS-BPF has a null at the center frequency of the other. Therefore, these types of filters are suitable for diplexers with two near frequencies.

Spoof Surface Plasmon Polaritons in Terahertz Integrated Circuits

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 7, Issue 5, May 2026.
Terahertz integrated circuits (THz ICs) face challenges from wavelength‐scale dimensions and parasitic effects. Spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs) provide strong confinement and enhanced near fields, enabling novel transmission and modulation mechanisms.

Taxonomy of IMT Interference on Aeronautical Systems

open access: yesRadio Science, Volume 61, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract The rapid deployment of 5G and future 6G networks has raised concerns about interference with critical aeronautical systems, particularly radio altimeters and Wireless Avionics Intra‐Communications (WAIC). This paper offers a comprehensive taxonomy of the 5G/6G signal interference mechanisms, operational impacts, and mitigation strategies in ...

A 0.85–1.25 GHz On‐Chip Tunable Bandpass Filter Using Cascaded Parametric Mixing in GaAs MMIC

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 62, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper demonstrates the first fully integrated GaAs MMIC implementation of a parametric frequency‐translated bandpass filter using cascaded up‐ and down‐conversion stages around a fixed idler resonance. The proposed architecture enables continuous tuning from 0.85 to 1.25 GHz with near‐unity gain, <3 dB insertion loss and >30 dB out‐of‐band ...

Balanced Diplexer With Widely Separated Differential Passbands Using Input Embedded Resonators

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 62, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This article presents a balanced‐to‐balanced diplexer using embedded resonators as a common dual‐band input stage, enabling independently tuneable and widely separated differential‐mode passbands without increasing the number of resonators in the output branches.

Frequency-Tunable and Pattern Diversity Antennas for Cognitive Radio Applications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2014
Frequency-tunable microstrip antennas, for cognitive radio applications, are proposed herein. The approach is based on tuning the operating frequency of a bandpass filter that is incorporated into a wideband antenna.

A New Ultracompact Narrow Bandpass Microstrip Filter Using Double-Negative Quasiplanar Cells

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2020
This paper presents a novel ultracompact narrow bandpass filter with high selectivity. The proposed filter is composed of cascading two basic cells. Each cell is basically a microstrip line loaded with a quasiplanar resonator and series gaps which can be

Adapting Mixer Metamaterials With a Metasurface Absorber

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This study investigates mixer metasurfaces, which use a top frequency‐selective surface (FSS) mixer and a transmission line local oscillator (LO) layer, to optimise the upconversion of signals. Experimental and simulated results detail how input signals (e.g., 2.1–4.45 GHz) on the LO layer switch diodes on the mixer layer, and the structure is ...

Tunable Filtenna With DGS Loaded Resonators for a Cognitive Radio System Based on an SDR Transceiver

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
This paper introduces the design of a filtenna for cognitive radio systems. Four varactor diodes, which are inserted in the bandpass filter, are used to achieve the desired tunability.
