On Circuits with Coupled Thick Microstrips

16th European Microwave Conference, 1986, 1986
A method for calculation af coupled thick microstrip parameters is presented. The method is employed in analysis- and synthesis procedures (programs) for circuits with multiple coupled strips with arbitrary dimensions on arbitrary isotropic substrates. It is thus possible to analyze and synthesize e.g.

NGD Analysis of Turtle-Shape Microstrip Circuit

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2020
A negative group delay (NGD) design of a turtle shape circuit topology is developed in this brief. The topology is comprised of two different length transmission lines (TLs) interconnecting two identical coupled lines (CLs). The S-matrix model is established as a function of the TL and CL parameters.

Optimization of aperture transitions for multiport microstrip circuits

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1996
The introduction of the printed aperture into multiport microstrip circuits as a vertical transition proves to be practical in the design as well as the manufacturing process of multilayered circuits. With the mixed-potential integral equation-based moment method, it becomes possible to analyze and optimize the performance of this arbitrary shape ...

Equivalent circuits for multiconductor microstrip bend discontinuities

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1993
The T-equivalent circuit previously used for single-line microstrip bends is extended to the variable-angle, multiconductor microstrip bend. A brief overview is given of the excess-charge and current approaches which are employed to obtain the capacitance and inductance matrices for the equivalent circuit.

Two-Dimensional Analysis for Stripline/Microstrip Circuits

MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2005
This paper discusses two aspects of two-dimensional circuits at microwave frequencies. First part is intended to emphasize that 2-dimensional planar circuit approach may be used to analyze and optimize stripline circuits. The second part describes a new method called 'desegmentation' which extends the applicability of Green's functions technique for ...

Millimeter-wave microstrip integrated circuit transceiver packaging

1987 Twelth International Conference on Infrared and Millimeter Waves, 1987
There has been considerable progress 1n the development of millimeter-wave hybrid integrated circuits. In program applications where low-cost and high-volume producibility are the key factors, planar microstrip technology 1s the preferred approach. The design and packaging of three fully integrated microstrip FMCW transceivers operating at 35, 60, and ...

Microstrip Circuits for the Classroom Laboratory

IEEE Transactions on Education, 1985
The procedure and background for an experiment on the design of microwave microstrip circuits are presented. An effort is made to keep the experiment simple and the costs to a minimum so that the experiment can be easily implemented using the facilities of a school. The circuits are fabricated using a copper-tape construction method.

GaAs IMPATT diodes for microstrip circuit applications

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1972
GaAs IMPATT diodes with plated heat sinks are shown to be particularly well suited for microstrip circuit applications. Details of materials growth and device fabrication procedures are given, and experimental results are presented for a GaAs IMPATT microstrip oscillator operating at X band.

Microstrip Lines for Microwave Integrated Circuits

Bell System Technical Journal, 1969
Microstrips, transmission lines of metallic layers deposited on a dielectric substrate, are very useful for the microwave and millimeter wave hybrid integrated circuits required for solid-state radio systems because of their simplicity and planar structure. To design hybrid integrated circuits with microstrips requires computation or measurement of the

Radiation from microstrip circuits: An introduction

International Journal of Microwave and Millimeter-Wave Computer-Aided Engineering, 1991
AbstractMicrostrips are open structures, that tend to radiate as the frequency of the signal increases within the microwave range. Radiation becomes significant in the vicinity of discontinuities, particularly when parts of the structure resonate. This situation is encountered in the design of filters, which often are arrays of radiating dipoles.
