Modelling SMD capacitor for microstrip circuits

Proceedings. Electrotechnical Conference Integrating Research, Industry and Education in Energy and Communication Engineering', 2003
Simple models and a parameter extraction technique for low-cost SMD capacitors mounted on microstrip lines are presented. The models are simple networks, easily implemented in currently available microwave CAD (computer-aided design) programs. Their element values are obtained from the results of vector network analyzer measurements on microstrip ...

Equivalent circuits for MIS microstrip discontinuities

IEEE Microwave and Guided Wave Letters, 1993
Metal-insulator-semiconductor (MIS) microstrip open-end and microstrip gap discontinuities are characterized by means of equivalent circuits consisting of capacitors and resistors. The circuit parameters of these components are obtained in terms of the complex excess charge densities existing on the conducting strips of the discontinuities.

Practical design of microstrip mixer circuits

Proceedings of the 32nd Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2003
Microwave balanced diode and GaAs MESFET mixers have been designed and simulated using a computer-aided procedure. Microstrip circuit implementations of these mixers have been built. Two types of microstrip couplers, branch-line and rat-race in ring form were implemented in the design of the diode mixers.

Dielectric resonators in waveguides and microstrip circuits

Conference on Electrical Insulation & Dielectric Phenomena - Annual Report 1971, 1971
Frequency selective filters play an important role in electronic and microwave technology, and progress in most branches of electronics is closely linked to advances in filter design. The designer would like to have the widest possible control over the filter's design parameters and characteristics.

Optimization of aperture transitions for multiport microstrip circuits

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1996
The introduction of the printed aperture into multiport microstrip circuits as a vertical transition proves to be practical in the design as well as the manufacturing process of multilayered circuits. With the mixed-potential integral equation-based moment method, it becomes possible to analyze and optimize the performance of this arbitrary shape ...

Equivalent Capacitances of Microstrip Open Circuits

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1972
The integral equations that describe the charge distribution near an open-circuited microstrip end are formulated and subsequently solved by a projective method. The solution hinges on development of computationally efficient techniques for dealing with the singularities that occur by special quadrature formulas.

An active microstrip circuits lab course

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium 1997. Digest, 2002
We describe a laboratory course in active microstrip circuits at the University of Colorado at Boulder. This course emphasizes the design and measurements of microwave (900 MHz-10 GHz) active circuits at the senior/graduate level. Experiments and design projects are described.

Frequency Downconverters using Microstrip Circuit

IETE Journal of Research, 1971
In this paper an attempt is made to present the work on microwave frequency downconverter using microstrip circuit, that is being carried out at Himalayan Radio Propagation Unit. The L- and S-band frequency downconverters make use of 3 db branch line couplers and Schottky barrier diodes as mixing elements. The isolation between local oscillator and the

Equivalent circuit for a microstrip step discontinuity

Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics [ANTEM 2000], 2000
In order to validate the formulation presented and the formulas derived in this paper, we compare results for the scattering matrix of the equivalent circuit of the step discontinuity with available published data. The equivalent circuit for a step discontinuity is shown in Fig. 2.

A CMOS readout circuit for microstrip detectors

Journal of Instrumentation, 2015
In this work, we present the design and the results of a CMOS analog channel for silicon microstrips detectors. The readout circuit was initially conceived for the outer layers of the SuperB silicon vertex tracker (SVT), but can serve more generally other microstrip-based detection systems.
