Microstructured Polymer Optical Fibers
Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2009The fabrication, materials, properties and applications of microstructured polymer optical fibers are reviewed. Microstructured polymer optical fibers formed the basis of extensive work on the physics of microstructured fibers, and an outline of the contribution to the wider field of microstructured fibers is also presented.

Stress-induced birefringence in microstructured optical fibers
Optics Letters, 2003We present a numerical study of stress-induced birefringence in microstructured optical fibers (MOFs), using a finite-element method. MOFs under lateral forces and twists are considered separately. Compared with that in standard single-mode optical fibers, stress-induced linear birefringence in MOFs under a lateral force is reduced with increasing air ...

Chalcogenide microstructured optical fibers: fabrication and applications
2024 24th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON)Chalcogenide glasses are known for their large transparency in the mid-infrared and their high linear refractive index (>2). They also present a high non-linear coefficient (n2), 100 to 1000 times larger than for silica, depending on the composition. An original way to obtain fibers is to design microstructured optical fibers (MOFs).

Integrating Optical Devices in Microstructured Optical Fibers
2007Liquid crystal infiltrated photonic bandgap fibers form a versatile and robust platform for designing optical fiber devices, which are highly tunable and exhibit novel optical properties for manipulation of guided light. We present three fiber devices for spectral filtering and polarization control / analysis.
