This study identified open‐type atrophic gastritis, flat or depressed morphology, faded appearance, tumor location on the greater curvature or anterior wall, xanthoma, and previous Helicobacter pylori eradication as independent risk factors for undifferentiated‐type‐predominant mixed‐type early gastric cancer (UM‐EGC).

Iron Physiology and Its Impact on Atopic Diseases: An EAACI Taskforce Report
ABSTRACT Iron is essential for oxygen transport, energy metabolism, and immune regulation. Yet iron deficiency is the most common micronutrient disorder across all age groups, affecting nearly one quarter of the global population. Iron deficiency triggers nutritional immunity, a host defense mechanism that withholds and redistributes iron, contributing

ABSTRACT Introduction Direct experimental investigation of Klinefelter syndrome (KS) in patients is limited because the syndrome manifests heterogeneously and affects multiple organ systems. Studying KS therefore requires a model that captures this complexity as accurately as possible while still permitting controlled experimental manipulation ...

OVARIAN MICROVASCULATURE AND ANGIOGENIC REGULATION IN FOLLICULAR DEVELOPMENT AND ATRESIA
The microvasculature of ovarian follicles plays important roles in folliculogenesis. A sparse capillary wreath appears in primary follicles and develops into a single-layered basket-like wreath the vessels of which are sinusoidal and slightly flattened ...

Current research reports that micro‐nanoplastics may increase the burden of cardiovascular disease with significant human and economic consequences. The detection of plastic particles in biological matrices is challenging and rigorous research is required to investigate the clinical and broader public health implications of microplastics.

Transmural Flow Upregulates PD‐L1 Expression in Microvascular Networks
Endothelial programmed death‐ligand 1 (PD‐L1) expression is higher in tumors than in normal tissues. Also, tumoral vasculatures tend to be leakier than normal vessels leading to a higher trans‐endothelial or transmural fluid flow.

Abstract Purpose We aimed to evaluate the association of metabolic syndrome (MetS) with macular thickness and retinal vascular calibres in the population‐based cohort (Northern Finland Birth Cohort). Methods The population of 2242 individuals was divided into MetS (n = 344) and control groups (n = 1898).

Thrombocytosis is associated with an increased production of platelet‐derived microparticles from activated platelets, which contribute to vaso‐occlusion in sickle cell disease by perpetuating the cycle of inflammation, procoagulant state and endothelial dysfunction.

New perspectives on VEGF signalling in Alzheimer's disease
Emery et al. bring together findings from recent multi‐omic studies, including single‐cell mRNA analysis of human post‐mortem brain tissue, and proteomic analysis of matched CSF and blood samples in large clinical studies. The authors present evidence of the involvement of altered VEGF signalling in vascular and immune dysfunction and neurodegeneration
