Perinatal Exposure to the Neonicotinoid Thiacloprid Impacts Transcription of Neuroplasticity and Neuroendocrine Markers in Mice but Not in the Zebrafish Model

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, Volume 46, Issue 1, Page 179-197, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Neonicotinoids are widely used insecticides in agriculture, aquaculture, pet care, and urban pest control. Initially developed to selectively target the insect cholinergic system, their extensive use has raised concerns about adverse effects on nontarget vertebrates.

In Vivo Glx Measurements From GABA‐Edited HERMES at 3 T Are Not Consistent With Those From Short‐TE PRESS Across Scanners, Brain Regions, Diagnostic and Age Groups

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 1, January 2026.
We evaluate the agreement between Glx (Glutamine plus Glutamine) estimates obtained from HERMES GABA‐DIFF (blue) and SUM spectra with Glx derived from short‐TE PRESS (TE = 35ms; green). Data was acquired from 139 participants, across two voxels (ACC and thalamus), three different scanners and multiple age and diagnostic groups (adults/preschoolers and ...

Unraveling the Role of WDR91: Case Report of a Previously Unrecognized Clinical Entity

open access: yesClinical Genetics, Volume 109, Issue 1, Page 176-180, January 2026.
A novel case is herein described to expand the genetic and clinical spectrum of WDR91 and characterize a previously unrecognized autosomal recessive neurodevelopmental disorder. WDR91 deficiency results in neuronal loss, cortical thinning, and impaired brain development.

Evaluation of leptin treatment on maintenance of body weight loss in diet‐induced obese mice

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 1, Page 401-416, January 2026.
Abstract Aims To evaluate the therapeutic potential of leptin treatment for weight loss maintenance preclinically, through a systematic evaluation of leptin efficacy (a) following a period of weight loss stability (as in published clinical studies), and (b) across a range of circulating leptin concentrations achieved through a variety of different ...

Time‐Dependent Therapeutic Effect of S‐Ketamine on PTSD Mediated by VTA‐OFC Dopaminergic Neurocircuit

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 46, December 11, 2025.
This study reveals that early rather than late administration of S‐ketamine can ameliorate PTSD symptoms. This phenomenon is attributed to reversing the progressive inhibition of VTADA neurons and the function of VTADA‐OFC circuit following stress. Targeted stimulation of the OFC by TI‐NIBS to enhance DA release effectively extends the therapeutic time
