Hydrogen sulfide intervention in focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury in rats

open access: yesNeural Regeneration Research, 2015
The present study aimed to explore the mechanism underlying the protective effects of hydrogen sulfide against neuronal damage caused by cerebral ischemia/reperfusion.

Vav1 promotes inflammation and neuronal apoptosis in cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury by upregulating microglial and NLRP3 inflammasome activation

open access: yesNeural Regeneration Research, 2023
Microglia, which are the resident macrophages of the central nervous system, are an important part of the inflammatory response that occurs after cerebral ischemia.

Granuloma formation and arterial thrombosis following cotton wrapping of an intracranial aneurysm a case report

open access: yesArquivos de Neuro-Psiquiatria, 1992
The authors report the case of a patient whose left middle cerebral artery aneurysm was wrapped with cotton. Occlusion of the middle cerebral artery, probably secondary to a foreign-body inflammatory reaction, developed late in the postoperative course ...

Common carotid occlusion treated with endarterectomy followed by superficial temporal artery–middle cerebral artery bypass

open access: yesAnnals of Vascular Surgery - Brief Reports and Innovations, 2023
Surgical treatment of chronic common carotid artery (CCA) occlusion with hemodynamic instability has not been well studied because of the rarity of CCA occlusion and its strategic dilemma due to the difficulty of using ipsilateral superficial temporal ...

Platelet Rubicon Bidirectional Regulation of GPVI and Integrin αIIbβ3 Signaling Mitigates Stroke Infarction Without Compromising Hemostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies Rubicon as a key platelet protein that bidirectionally regulates GPVI and integrin αIIbβ3 signaling. Platelet Rubicon protects against cerebral ischemia‐reperfusion injury by limiting infarction without increasing hemorrhage.

TRIM56 Aggravates Cerebral Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury via Inhibiting KLF4‐Activated Ferroptosis Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the E3 ubiquitin ligase TRIM56 exacerbates neuronal ferroptosis and brain damage by mediating K48‐linked ubiquitination and degradation of KLF4, leading to suppression of the xCT/GSH/GPX4 axis. Targeting TRIM56 alleviates cerebral ischemia‐reperfusion injury in vivo and in vitro, highlighting its therapeutic potential.

XIAP Stabilizes DDRGK1 to Promote ER‐Phagy and Protects Against Noise‐Induced Hearing Loss

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanism of GAS‐mediated protection against noise‐induced hearing loss (NIHL). Noise exposure activates the ATF4/eIF2α axis, downregulating XIAP and promoting DDRGK1 degradation, thereby inhibiting ER‐phagy and leading to hair cell (HC) death. GAS treatment rescues XIAP and DDRGK1 expression, reactivating ER‐phagy to mitigate HC loss, synaptic damage,
