From rally to reality: unveiling long-term dynamics in political trust over two years of COVID-19 in Germany

open access: yesPolitical Research Exchange
Crises like wars, terrorist attacks, and economic or health crises are frequently followed by profound changes in political trust. Whereas immediate external threats often induce a strong initial increase in political trust, the ‘rally-around-the-flag ...

Recent developments in planet migration theory

open access: yes, 2012
Planetary migration is the process by which a forming planet undergoes a drift of its semi-major axis caused by the tidal interaction with its parent protoplanetary disc.

Guidance of trunk neural crest migration requires neuropilin 2/semaphorin 3F signaling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In vertebrate embryos, neural crest cells migrate only through the anterior half of each somite while avoiding the posterior half. We demonstrate that neural crest cells express the receptor neuropilin 2 (Npn2), while its repulsive ligand semaphorin 3F ...

To Migrate or Not to Migrate: An Analysis of Operator Migration in Distributed Stream Processing

open access: yesIEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials
One of the most important issues in data stream processing systems is to use operator migration to handle highly variable workloads in a cost-efficient manner and adapt to the needs at any given time on demand. Operator migration is a complex process that involves changes in the state and stream management of a running query, typically without any loss

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

International Migration of Health Professionals and the Marketization and Privatization of Health Education in India: From Push-Pull to Global Political Economy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Health worker migration theories have tended to focus on labour market conditions as principal push or pull factors. The role of education systems in producing internationally oriented health workers has been less explored.

A survey of process migration mechanisms

open access: yesACM SIGOPS Operating Systems Review, 1988
We define process migration as the transfer of a sufficient amount of a process's state from one machine to another for the process to execute on the target machine. This paper surveys proposed and implemented mechanisms for process migration. We pay particular attention to the designer's goals, such as performance, load-balancing, and reliability.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

CONCEPTUAL METAPHOR IN THE GERMAN POLITICAL DISCOURSE AS A REFLECTION OF MIGRATION PROCESSES (BASED ON OFFICIAL STATEMENTS OF THE PARTY “ALTERNATIVE FOR GERMANY”)

open access: yesМногоязычие в образовательном пространстве, 2020
The paper considers the metaphorical models as a way of conceptual-metaphorical representation of migration policies pursued by the German federal government in the texts of official statements of the right-wing opposition party “Alternative for Germany”
