Properties of a Milk-Clotting Microbial Enzyme

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1968
Abstract The clotting and proteolytic properties of a milk-clotting enzyme (microbial rennet) isolated from a culture of Bacillus cereus were investigated and compared to the corresponding properties of calf rennet. The clotting activity of microbial rennet was found to be less sensitive to pH changes of the substrate than calf rennet.

Determination of Clotting Power of Milk Clotting Enzymes

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1976
Abstract A simple objective method employing a rotational type viscometer is proposed for determination of the clotting power of milk-curdling enzymes through continuous monitoring of the viscosity of a milk-enzyme system. A characteristic viscosity versus time pattern is a constant viscosity base line followed by a steep linear increase in viscosity ...

Loss of VMP1 Impairs Tight Junction Recycling and Aggravates Intestinal Barrier Dysfunction in Inflammatory Bowel Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies vacuole membrane protein 1 (VMP1) as a critical regulator of intestinal epithelial barrier homeostasis. VMP1 facilitates the recruitment of CORO1C to late endosomes, supporting Retromer‐mediated recycling of the tight junction protein Occludin.

Comparison of d and l-lactate content in cow and camel milk [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Lactate is the product of fermentation of lactose in the digestive tract of milk consumers. The lactate has benef icial effect on health for the regulation of the milk protein digestion and calcium absorption. However, lactate has two stereoisomere named

CNC–PNIPAM Drug Delivery System Improves Endometrial Receptivity via Natural Killer Cell Immune Tolerance in Endometriosis

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
An injectable CNC–PNIPAM hydrogel is developed for intrauterine co‐delivery of levonorgestrel and botropase. This platform reprograms uterine natural killer cells toward an immune–tolerant phenotype and enhances endometrial receptivity marker expression. The results demonstrate a promising strategy to counteract endometriosis–associated infertility and

Single‐Cell RNA Sequencing Informs Precision Targeting of Monogenic Lupus Associated With IKZF1 Haploinsufficiency

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective This study aimed to investigate the mechanisms of immune dysregulation in a pediatric patient with monogenic lupus driven by IKZF1 haploinsufficiency. Methods Peripheral immune cells from a patient with IKZF1 haploinsufficiency, patients with lupus with no currently known genetic mutations, and healthy controls were analyzed using single‐cell

Mise en évidence d'un agent coagulant utilisable en fromagerie dans les fruits de Balanites aegyptiaca [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Study of a Suitable Cheese Making Milk-clotting Agent from Balanites aegyptiaca Fruits. As slaughtering of zebu (Bos indicus) calves in Cameroon is forbidden, calf abomasa are rare on markets so it is diffi cult to prepare rennet.
