Flavin composition of human milk
The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 1990The identity and quantity of greater than 95% of the flavins present in human milk were assessed by acid-phenol extractions followed by high-performance liquid chromatography. Flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) and riboflavin were the predominant flavins, followed by 10-(2'-hydroxyethyl)-flavin.

Composition of beagle dog milk
American Journal of Physiology-Legacy Content, 1960A statistical study has been made of the composition of the major C-containing compounds taken from beagle dog milk during the 3rd through 5th week of lactation. The mean values are as follows: 26% total solids, 13% fat, 3.3% lactose and 9.8% protein. Total solid content was found to vary with fat content according to the equation: % total solids = 15.

Composition of bovine milk lipids
Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 1973AbstractRecent literature on the composition of milk lipids is reviewed and discussed. Many additional exotic fatty acids, mainly branched chain, keto, hydroxy and isomers containing double bonds, have been identified, often with the aid of mass spectrometry. It is estimated that ca. 500 fatty acids have been found in milk lipids.

Milk is secreted by all species of mammals to supply nutrition and immunological protection to the young. It performs these functions with a large array of distinctive compounds. Interspecies differences in the quantitative composition of milk (Jenness and Sloan 1970) probably reflect differences in the metabolic processes of the lactating mother and ...

Nutrient Composition of Human Milk
Pediatric Clinics of North America, 2001A complex interplay of maternal homeostatic mechanisms influences nutrient transfer to nursing infants, and with a few exceptions, excess maternal intake or a moderate deficiency in the maternal diet does not appreciably alter nutrient transfer to infants unless it has persisted for some time.

Milk production: Factors affecting milk composition
1995Through genetic selection, improvements in nutrition and management, and advances in milking technology, the mammary gland of the dairy cow yields far more milk nutrients and volume than the calf can consume. Selection of cows for greater production, and the stresses associated with nutrition, reproduction, and the environment may affect milk yield as ...

Asses: milk yield and composition
2006Hypoallergenicity of ass's milk protein have been recently confirmed, allowing ass's milk to be considered a valid substitute to the available hypoallergenic infant formulas. Following the medical suggestion, this paper deals with the feasibility of ass's milk production and some of its essential traits, reviewing experimental data from studies carried
