3D Printing of Soft Robotic Systems: Advances in Fabrication Strategies and Future Trends

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Collectively, this review systematically examines 3D‐printed soft robotics, encompassing material selections, function integration, and manufacturing methodologies. Meanwhile, fabrication strategies are analyzed in order of increasing complexity, highlighting persistent challenges with proposed solutions.

Staggered grids discretization in three-dimensional Darcy convection

open access: yes, 2008
We consider three-dimensional convection of an incompressible fluid saturated in a parallelepiped with a porous medium. A mimetic finite-difference scheme for the Darcy convection problem in the primitive variables is developed.

Vorinostat Potentiates Chemoimmunotherapy in Immune‐Enriched Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Immune‐enriched pancreatic cancer does not confer a significant survival advantage. SAHA sensitizes these “hot” tumors to chemoimmunotherapy by disrupting a FASN/PARP9‐driven “metabolic trap” and enhancing CD8+ T cell function. A CD8high/FASNhigh/PARP9high signature identifies patients who are most likely to benefit from the “gemcitabine‐nivolumab‐SAHA”

Compatible finite element methods for numerical weather prediction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This article takes the form of a tutorial on the use of a particular class of mixed finite element methods, which can be thought of as the finite element extension of the C-grid staggered finite difference method.

All‐in‐One Underwater Quality Evaluation Metamaterial With Mechanical Robustness, Sound Attenuation, and Diffuse Reflection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, a bioinspired all‐in‐one underwater quality evaluation metamaterial, combining sound attenuation, diffuse reflection, and mechanical robustness, is proposed based on jumping spider locomotion and human skeletal biomechanics. Meanwhile, a CNN‑driven quality evaluation framework is established for theoretically dimension‐reduced ...

Mixed Mimetic Spectral Element method applied to Darcy's problem

open access: yes, 2013
We present a discretization for Darcy's problem using the recently developed Mimetic Spectral Element Method. The gist lies in the exact discrete representation of integral relations.

Mimetic Finite Difference Method for Shape Optimization Problems

open access: yes, 2014
We test the performance of the Mimetic Finite Difference method applied to a wide class of shape optimization problems. Adaptive strategies based on heuristic error indicators are also considered to validate the effectiveness of the numerical scheme.

A Hydrogen‐Releasing Nanozyme Engineers a Mitochondrial ROS Amplifier for Self‐Sustaining Catalytic Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We developed a RhPd‐H nanozyme that integrates enhanced POD‐mimetic catalytic activity with thermally triggered H2 release. H2 shields and reprograms mitochondria to continuously leak endogenous ·O2−. This dual‐path ROS spatially and temporally disrupts redox homeostasis, inducing persistent oxidative stress for tumor suppression and antitumor immunity,

The nonconforming virtual element method for eigenvalue problems

open access: yes, 2018
We analyse the nonconforming Virtual Element Method (VEM) for the approximation of elliptic eigenvalue problems. The nonconforming VEM allow to treat in the same formulation the two- and three-dimensional case.We present two possible formulations of the ...

Destruction of the family of steady states in the planar problem of Darcy convection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The natural convection of incompressible fluid in a porous medium causes for some boundary conditions a strong non-uniqueness in the form of a continuous family of steady states.
