PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Measuring the Role of Observable Variables of Student Engagement on College Belongingness Using the MIMIC Model

open access: yesGadjah Mada Journal of Psychology
Online learning due to social restrictions that occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic reduced student engagement in both academic and non-academic fields, which was followed by a decline in college belongingness. However, student engagement takes various

Only mimic-species can survive when external noises are added in a ratio-dependent community dynamics model

open access: yes, 2021
In this paper, we present a ratio-dependent community dynamics model on Batesian mimicry. In ecology, Batesian mimicry is very important which focus mainly on the patterns in model-species and the mimic-species.

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Development and validation of a nomogram to predict mortality of patients with DIC in ICU

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine
BackgroundDisseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) is a devastating condition, which always cause poor outcome of critically ill patients in intensive care unit. Studies concerning short-term mortality prediction in DIC patients is scarce. This study
