MIMO Systems With Adaptive Modulation

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2005
Adaptive modulation (AM) schemes in multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems with a perfect or imperfect channel state information (CSI) at both the transmitter and receiver were investigated. Under an average transmit power and instantaneous bit error rate (BER) constraint, the transmit parameters including the subchannel transmit power and/or ...

A Novel Method for the Design of Switching Surfaces for Discretized MIMO Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, 2017
Designing variable structure control with sliding mode (VSC-SM) control schemes needs a switching function or a sliding surface which guarantees the global stability of the closed-loop system.

Joint interference alignment and power allocation for NOMA-based multi-user MIMO systems

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2018
Interference alignment (IA) and non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) are key technologies for achieving the capacity scaling required by next generation networks to overcome the unprecedented growth of data network traffic.

On the Matrix Inversion Approximation Based on Neumann Series in Massive MIMO Systems

open access: yes, 2015
Zero-Forcing (ZF) has been considered as one of the potential practical precoding and detection method for massive MIMO systems. One of the most important advantages of massive MIMO is the capability of supporting a large number of users in the same time-

MIMO detection in analog VLSI [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper we propose an analog VLSI approach to maximum a posteriori (MAP) detection in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. This detector can be seen as an extension of the well known analog decoding concept for error correcting codes, as ...

On the Sum Rate of MIMO-NOMA and MIMO-OMA Systems

open access: yesIEEE Wireless Communications Letters, 2017
In this letter, the performance of non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is compared with conventional orthogonal multiple access (OMA) over multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels. It is proved analytically that for a simple scenario of two users, MIMO-NOMA dominates MIMO-OMA in terms of both sum rate and ergodic sum rate.

Performance Analysis of MIMO Techniques for a Pyramid Receiver in an Indoor MIMO-VLC System

open access: yesSakarya Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Dergisi, 2022
In an indoor multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) visible light communication (VLC) system, line of sight (LoS) channel links are present between a light-emitting diode (LED) based transmitter and a photodetector (PD) based receiver.

Broadbeam for Massive MIMO Systems [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2016
Massive MIMO has been identified as one of the promising disruptive air interface techniques to address the huge capacity requirement demanded by 5G wireless communications. For practical deployment of such systems, the control message need to be broadcast to all users reliably in the cell using broadbeam.

Antenna Subset Selection for Cyclic Prefix Assisted MIMO Wireless Communications over Frequency Selective Channels

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2008
Antenna (subset) selection techniques are feasible to reduce the hardware complexity of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems, while keeping the benefits of higher-order MIMO systems.
