On Stability of Hyperbolic Thermoelastic Reissner-Mindlin-Timoshenko Plates
In the present article, we consider a thermoelastic plate of Reissner-Mindlin-Timoshenko type with the hyperbolic heat conduction arising from Cattaneo's law. In the absense of any additional mechanical dissipations, the system is often not even strongly

Particle Size Effects on Dynamic Behavior of Heated Spheroidal Particles in Shear Flow
Understanding the dynamics of nonspherical particles in shear‐driven flows is essential for a wide range of engineering applications. This study examines how confinement ratio, thermal effects, and interparticle interactions influence the migration, equilibrium positions, and rotation of nonspherical particles in such flows.

On the stability of Mindlin–Timoshenko plates [PDF]
We consider a Mindlin-Timoshenko model with frictional dissipations acting on the equations for the rotation angles. We prove that this system is not exponentially stable independent of any relations between the constants of the system, which is different from the analogous one-dimensional case.

Abstract Snow dampens sounds, but anecdotal reports concisely describe audible propagating collapse events—firnquakes—in Antarctic and Arctic snowfields. We propose combining granular and continuum mechanics to form a testable theory for conditioning, triggering, and propagation of firnquakes consistent with scarce data.

A cell-based smoothed three-node Mindlin plate element (CS-MIN3) was recently proposed to improve the performance of the existing three-node Mindlin plate element (MIN3) for static and free vibration analyses of Mindlin plates.

Accuracy of the Mindlin Model in A0 Lamb Mode Scattering from Partial Through-Thickness Damage
Guided wave tomography is an effective non-destructive method for mapping corrosion damage in thin-walled metal structures. Its efficiency and accuracy depend on the choice of a suitable forward model and inversion method.

Retrieving Three‐Dimensional Deformation in Groundwater Pumping Areas Based on InSAR Data
Abstract Monitoring three‐dimensional (3D) surface deformation in groundwater pumping areas remains a significant challenge, as conventional InSAR techniques are constrained by their limited sensitivity to north‐south displacement. This study develops an inversion approach—the Vertical Gradient‐Constrained Strain Model (VG‐SM3D)—that combines multi ...

Energetics of In-plane Motions in Coupled Plate Structures
Energy flow analysis (EFA) has been used to predict the frequency-averaged vibrational responses of built-up structures at high frequencies. In this study, the frequency-averaged exact energetics of the in-plane motions of the plate were derived for the ...

Bisector and zero-macrospin co-rotational systems for shell elements [PDF]
A principal issue in any co-rotational approach for large displacement analysis of plates and shells is associated with the specific choice of the local reference system in relation to the current deformed element configuration.
