Rapid DNA replication origin licensing protects stem cell pluripotency
Complete and robust human genome duplication requires loading minichromosome maintenance (MCM) helicase complexes at many DNA replication origins, an essential process termed origin licensing. Licensing is restricted to G1 phase of the cell cycle, but G1

Minichromosome Maintenance as a Genetic Assay for Defects in DNA Replication
Minichromosome maintenance (mcm) is an effective genetic assay for mutants defective in DNA replication. Two classes of mcm mutants have been identified using this screen: those that differentially affect the activities of certain autonomously replicating sequences (ARSs) and those that uniformly affect the activities of all ARSs.

Position Effect Takes Precedence Over Target Sequence in Determination of Adenine Methylation Patterns in the Nuclear Genome of a Eukaryote, \u3cem\u3eTetrahymena thermophila\u3c/em\u3e [PDF]
Approximately 0.8% of the adenine residues in the macronuclear DNA of the ciliated protozoan Tetrahymena thermophila are modified to N6-methyladenine. DNA methylation is site specific and the pattern of methylation is constant between clonal cell lines ...

Highly Coordinated Gene Regulation in Mouse Skeletal Muscle Regeneration [PDF]
Mammalian skeletal muscles are capable of regeneration after injury. Quiescent satellite cells are activated to reenter the cell cycle and to differentiate for repair, recapitulating features of myogenesis during embryonic development.
