Liposarcoma of the Spermatic Cord: A Rare Entity

open access: yesCase Reports in Urology, 2011
Primary malignant tumours of spermatic cord are rare. The liposarcoma of spermatic cord is a rare entity and only a few cases have been reported in the literature. We report a case of forty five-year-old male with huge left inguinoscrotal swelling.

Multiparametric MRI‐based model for prediction of local progression of hepatocellular carcinoma after thermal ablation

open access: yesCancer Medicine, 2023
Purpose To develop a deep learning radiomics of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (DLRMM)‐based model that incorporates preoperative and postoperative signatures for prediction of local tumor progression (LTP) after thermal ablation (TA) in ...

The Use of Audio in Minimal Access Surgery [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
In minimal access surgery (MAS) (also known as minimally invasive surgery), operations are carried out by making small incisions in the skin and inserting special apparatus into potential body cavities through those incisions. Laparoscopic MAS procedures

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Spectrum of EGFR mutation and its relation with high-risk predictors in thyroid cancer in Kashmiri population: 2 years prospective study at a tertiary care hospital

open access: yesJournal of the Egyptian National Cancer Institute, 2022
Background EGFR mutation has not been extensively studied in thyroid cancer. This study was conducted to study spectrum of EGFR mutation in thyroid cancer in Kashmiri population for possible therapeutic purpose.

Spatial and single‐nuclei transcriptomics reveals idiosyncratic and generic patterns in papillary and anaplastic thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Matched spatial transcriptomics and single‐nuclei RNA‐seq were generated for anaplastic and BRAFV600E papillary thyroid cancers revealing generic and tumor‐specific states occurring in cancer cells and in the tumor microenvironment. In this context, cancer dedifferentiation mirrored organoid maturation through ordered thyroid marker gain/loss ...

Comprehensive analysis of the prognostic value and functions of prefoldins in hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesFrontiers in Molecular Biosciences, 2022
Prefoldins (PFDNs), a group of proteins known to be associated with cytoskeletal rearrangement, are involved in tumor progression in various cancer types. However, little is known about the roles of PFDNs in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Preoperative circulating tumor cells integrated with imaging analysis for prognostic evaluation in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detecting circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in blood before surgery may help predict outcomes in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Here, we show when combined with tumor size and lymph node involvement from routine imaging, CTC status identifies high‐risk patients with poorer survival—offering a simple, minimally invasive tool ...
