Research on obstacle climbing gait structure design and gait control of hexapod wall climbing robot based on STM32F103 core controller

open access: yesMechanics & Industry, 2023
The hexapod wall climbing robots have the advantages of traversing complex wall surfaces. To traverse complex environments autonomously, it must possess the capability to select gait parameters and paths appropriate for the wall surface.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Multi-response optimization of wire electrical discharge machining parameters for enhanced machinability of Ti-6Al-4 V alloy

open access: yesDiscover Mechanical Engineering
Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM) is widely used for machining titanium alloys such as Ti-6Al-4 V. However, comprehensive multi-response optimisation incorporating a larger set of input and output variables remains limited. This study presents a

An Improved Adaptive Sliding Mode Control Approach for Anti-Slip Regulation of Electric Vehicles Based on Optimal Slip Ratio

open access: yesMachines
To optimize the acceleration performance of independently driven electric vehicles with four in-wheel motors, this paper proposes an anti-slip regulation (ASR) strategy based on dynamic road surface observer for more efficient tracking of the optimal ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.
