On invariant ideals in group rings of torsion-free minimax nilpotent groups
Let $k$ be a field and let $N$ be a nilpotent minimax torsion-free group acted by a solvable group of operators $G$ of finite rank. In the presented paper we study properties of some types of $G$-invariant ideals of the group ring $kN$.

A double-loop iterative method is proposed to design allpass variable fractional-delay (VFD) digital filters basing on the minimization of root-mean-squared group-delay error. In the inner loop, an iterative quadratic optimization is proposed to replace

The acquisition and transmission of magnetic resonance images are susceptible to noise, particularly impulse noise. Although the method based on the ℓ0-norm and overlapping group sparse total variation (ℓ0-OGSTV) is effective for impulse noise image ...

Statistical approaches for service delivery differentials as assessed through a composite indicator: Application to Ugandan local governments. [PDF]
This study assesses differentials in service delivery among Ugandan local governments through a composite indicator that consolidates essential performance data from the education, health, and water sectors.

Groups with the real chain condition on non-pronormal subgroups [PDF]
It is shown that a generalised radical group has no chain of non-pronormal subgroups with the same order type as the set $\mathbb{R}$ of the real numbers if and only if either the group is minimax or all subgroups are pronormal.

On groups with many normal subgroups [PDF]
The structure of groups which are rich in normal subgroups has been investigated by several authors. Here, we prove that if a radical group G has normal deviation, which means that the set of its non-normal subgroups satisfies a very weak chain condition,

Minimax Demographic Group Fairness in Federated Learning [PDF]
Federated learning is an increasingly popular paradigm that enables a large number of entities to collaboratively learn better models. In this work, we study minimax group fairness in federated learning scenarios where different participating entities ...
