Characterizing Canine Frontal Electroencephalographic Patterns and Cardiovascular Correlates at Different Anesthetic Levels of Sevoflurane

open access: yesAnimals
This study evaluated electroencephalogram [EEG] and cardiovascular correlation of sevoflurane anesthesia in healthy beagle dogs at varying minimum alveolar concentration (MAC) multiples. Processed EEG indices (Patient State Index [PSI], burst suppression

Engineering Cellular Self‐Adhesions Inside 3D Printed Micro‐Arches to Enhance Cell:Biomaterial Attachment

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Surprisingly, a cell can bind to itself to make a self‐adhesion, which engineered here to improve how cells attach to biomaterials. Nanoprinting are used to make 3D structures smaller than cells–called Self‐Adhesion‐Tunnels (SATs)–around which cells can wrap and bind to themselves.

Comparison between Minimum Alveolar Concentration and Minimum Alveolar Concentration for Blunting Adrenergic Response after Administration of Sevoflurane in Cats

open access: yesOpen Access Journal of Veterinary Science & Research, 2019
Objectives : Minimum alveolar concentration (MAC) is defined as the alveolar concentration of anesthetic at 1 atmosphere that produces immobility in 50% of subjects exposed to a noxious stimulus. There is limited information regarding the MAC of sevoflurane required for blunting adrenergic responses

Unperceivable Designs of Wearable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Unperceivable wearable technologies seamlessly integrate into everyone's daily life, for healthcare and Internet‐of‐Things applications. By remaining completely unnoticed both visually and tactilely, by the user and others, they ensure medical privacy and allow natural social interactions.

Granular Hydrogels as Brittle Yield Stress Fluids

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work reports the Kamani‐Donley‐Rogers yield stress fluid model can describe granular hydrogel deformation. The model robustly captures transient rheology and self‐healing behavior for granular gels of varying composition using only six parameters. This framework provides new insight regarding the effect of material parameters on granular yielding ...

Capillary‐Driven 3D Open Fluidic Networks for Versatile Continuous Flow Manipulation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The capillary‐driven 3D open fluidic networks (OFNs), composed of connected polyhedral frames, enable precise, programmable, and versatile manipulation of unary, binary, and multiple continuous flows in both spatial and temporal dimensions. OFNs represent a significant leap beyond conventional microfluidics, unlocking new possibilities for selective ...
