Abstract Objective—To determine minimum alveolar concentration (MAC) of isoflurane in green iguanas and effects of butorphanol on MAC. Design—Prospective randomized trial. Animals—10 healthy mature iguanas. Procedure—In each iguana, MAC was measured 3 times: twice after induction of anesthesia with isoflurane and

The minimum alveolar concentration of sevoflurane in rats
European Journal of Anaesthesiology, 1997There are only limited data on sevoflurane minimum alveolar concentration (MAC) in rats. This study was designed to determine the minimum alveolar concentration value for sevoflurane in younger and older rats. Minimum alveolar concentration determination was performed in spontaneously breathing animals, 9-week-old rats (younger, n = 8) and more than 13-

The Minimum Alveolar Concentration of Desflurane in Cats
Veterinary Surgery, 1995Eight adult cats, 4 male and 4 female, (3.5 ± 0.9 [SD] kg) were used to determine the minimum alveolar concentration (MAC) of desflurane. Desflurane (DES) anesthesia was induced in a 20 L chamber with an oxygen inflow of 10 L/min and the DES vaporizer set at 18%.

The minimum alveolar concentration of sevoflurane in cats
Journal of Anesthesia, 1988Eight adult cats of either sex were studied. The minimal alveolar concentration (MAC) for sevoflurane in the cats was found to be 2.58 +/- 0.30% (mean +/- SD). The ratios of MAC values between sevoflurane and halothane, enflurane and isoflurane in cats were very similar to those ratios found in humans and dogs.

Postpartum Changes in the Minimum Alveolar Concentration of Isoflurane
Survey of Anesthesiology, 1995Background Minimum alveolar concentration (MAC) is decreased in pregnancy, but it is not known how quickly after delivery MAC returns to normal. We measured the MAC of isoflurane in a group of women undergoing elective tubal ligation after delivery.

Determination of the Minimum Alveolar Concentration of Isoflurane in Llamas
Veterinary Surgery, 1999Objective—To determine the minimum alveolar concentration (MAC) of isoflurane (ISO) in llamas.Study Design—Prospective study.Animals—Eight adult neutered male llamas (9 ± 1 years [x̄± SD], 177 ± 29 kg). Methods—Anesthesia was induced and maintained in otherwise unmedicated llamas with a mixture of ISO in oxygen administered through a standard small ...
