We evaluated the effects of i.v. adenosine triphosphate (ATP) on sevoflurane minimum alveolar anesthetic concentration (MAC) and MAC-Awake. The study group included healthy patients 20-60 yr of age. The study groups for MAC-Awake determination included 49 patients who were scheduled for elective surgery.

NIMODIPINE DECREASES THE MINIMUM ALVEOLAR CONCENTRATION OF ISOFLURANE IN DOGS [PDF]
Nimodipine is a calcium antagonist that binds with high affinity to neuronal membranes. It is a potent cerebrovasodilator and has been demonstrated also to affect neurotransmitter synthesis and release. Because patients undergoing surgery for intracranial aneurysms are frequently receiving nimodipine, the authors determined the MAC of isoflurane in six

Overview of molecular signatures of senescence and associated resources: pros and cons
Cells can enter a stress response state termed cellular senescence that is involved in various diseases and aging. Detecting these cells is challenging due to the lack of universal biomarkers. This review presents the current state of senescence identification, from biomarkers to molecular signatures, compares tools and approaches, and highlights ...

Effects of robenacoxib on the minimum alveolar concentration of isofluorane in domestic felines [PDF]
Robenacoxib is a selective non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug indicated for pain control in felines. The objective was to evaluate the effect of robenacoxib on the minimum alveolar concentration of isoflurane in cats.

Phenylpiperidine opioid effects on isoflurane minimum alveolar concentration in cats [PDF]
AbstractDifferent structurally related phenylpiperidine opioids exhibit different isoflurane‐sparing effects in cats. Because minimum alveolar concentration (MAC) in cats is affected only by very high plasma concentrations of some phenylpiperidine opioids, we hypothesized these effects are caused by actions on nonopioid receptors.

Relapsing–Remitting Multiple Sclerosis Is Associated With a Dysbiotic Oral Microbiome
ABSTRACT Objective Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune disorder characterized by inflammation, demyelination, and neurological impairment. While the gut microbiota's role in MS is extensively studied, the association between the oral microbiota and MS remains underexplored, particularly in North American cohorts.

Objectives Sjögren's disease is an autoimmune disorder that can impact multiple organ systems, including the peripheral nervous system (PNS). PNS manifestations, which can exist concurrently, include mononeuropathies, polyneuropathies, and autonomic nervous system neuropathies. To help patients and providers in the decision‐making process, we developed
