In the past years, the use of biomass has significantly increased and, therefore, so has the number of accidents related to its storage, transport, and use. To prevent these accidents, it is essential to properly know their flammability and explosion characteristics so their behaviour can be addressed as a first stop for preventing accidents.

Minimum Net Driving Temperature Concept for Membrane Distillation [PDF]
In this study, we analyzed the heat requirement of membrane distillation (MD) to investigate the trade-off between the evaporation efficiency and driving force efficiency in a single effect MD system. We found that there exists a non-zero net driving temperature difference that maximizes efficiency.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
