Statistical model-based forecast of minimum and maximum temperatures at Manali [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Various types of avalanches frequent northwest Himalayan regions during winter months. Winter season over this region is frequented by westwardmoving weather systems called western disturbances (WDs).

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Relationship between minimum temperature and arrival rate.

open access: yes, 2021
A regression between minimum daily temperature and bee arrival rates throughout the day are shown. There was no relationship between minimum temperature and bee arrivals, with high activity seen even during the coldest nights in winter (P > 0.05).

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Predicting daily soil temperature profiles in arable soils in cold temperate regions from air temperature and leaf area index [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Modelling of ecosystem processes often requires soil temperature as a driving variable. Since soil temperature measurements are seldom available for regional applications, they have to be estimated from standard meteorological data. The objective of this

The Minimum Energy Building Temperature Control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
One of the most important factors of users comfort inside building is air temperature. From the other side one of the most biggest position in home budget is price for heat. Mutually exclusive indices are the cause that the control of temperature task using the smallest amount of energy as it is possible is very difficult.
