Prognostic Value of Neurofilament Light Chain and Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein in ALD‐Related Myelopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background X‐linked adrenoleukodystrophy (X‐ALD) is a neurometabolic disorder caused by pathogenic variants in ABCD1, leading to slowly progressive spinal cord disease in nearly all affected men. Sensitive biomarkers to quantify disease severity and predict progression are needed for clinical care and trial design.

Development of mires

open access: yes, 2023
Mires are ecosystems in which – under permanently water-saturated, oxygen-poor soil conditions – dead plants do not completely decay. The semi-decomposed plant material piles up as layers of peat that, over time, may reach several metres thickness ...

Development and validation of the Multidimensional Internally Regulated Eating Scale (MIRES).

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
In this paper, we describe the systematic development and validation of the Multidimensional Internally Regulated Eating Scale (MIRES), a new self-report instrument that quantifies the individual-difference characteristics that together shape the ...

Evaluation of Digital Technologies for Home‐Based Assessment in People With Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Digital technologies hold promise for transforming healthcare by enhancing personalized treatments and offer valuable opportunities to improve patient care. Here, we evaluated several novel, self‐administered, home‐based, digital endpoints for their association with corresponding conventional standard clinical measures (primary) in ...

Evaluation of a Novel Electric Health Record Sidecar Application to Display Rheumatoid Arthritis Clinical Outcomes During Clinic Visits: Results of a Stepped‐Wedge Cluster Randomized Pragmatic Trial

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We developed a novel electronic health record sidecar application to visualize key rheumatoid arthritis (RA) outcomes, including disease activity, physical function, and pain, via a patient‐facing graphical interface designed for use during outpatient visits (“RA PRO dashboard”).

A practical metric for estimating the current climate forcing of natural mires

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters
Commensuration of the radiative effects of different greenhouse gases (GHGs) is crucial for understanding the effects of land cover and ecosystem changes on the global climate.

Biopsychosocial Determinants of Hand Function and Its Trajectories Over Five Years in Patients With Hand Osteoarthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective This study aimed to investigate hand function trajectories over five years in primary hand osteoarthritis (OA). Additionally, determinants of baseline and longitudinal hand function were assessed. Methods A total of 538 patients with both baseline and five‐year study visits were analyzed.

Real‐World Longitudinal Data on the Impact of Hydroxychloroquine Blood Level Monitoring on Lupus Outcomes: Results of a Prospective Longitudinal Cohort Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) is a cornerstone therapy in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), but the weight‐based dosing does not account for clinical factors that can introduce individual variability in drug metabolism and clearance. We leveraged longitudinal data from a prospective SLE cohort to identify clinical factors that predict ...

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.
