Temporal and spatial variation of habitat conditions in the zonation of vegetation in the late stages of lake overgrowth

open access: yesActa Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae, 2014
The water and substrate properties in the vegetation zones characteristic of the late stages of lake overgrowth were determined. It was demonstrated that the spatial distribution of plant communities conformed with the spatial gradient of habitat ...

Integration of Low‐Voltage Nanoscale MoS2 Memristors on CMOS Microchips

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the first monolithic integration of nanoscale MoS2‐based memristors into the back‐end‐of‐line of foundry‐fabricated CMOS microchips in a one‐transistor‐one‐resistor (1T1R) architecture. The MoS2‐based 1T1R cells exhibit forming‐free, nonvolatile resistive switching with ultra‐low operating voltages, low cycle‐to‐cycle variability ...

RADIOCARBON CHRONOLOGY OF HOLOCENE PALSA OF BOL’SHEZEMEL’SKAYA TUNDRA IN RUSSIAN NORTH

open access: yesGeography, Environment, Sustainability, 2013
Six palsa mire in Usa River valley and in Vorkuta area in North-eastern part of European Russia were studied in detail. In total 75 new 14C dates from different palsa sections were obtained. In palsa mire near Bugry Settlement 3.2 m high palsa dated from

Regulated Ion‐Diffusion Hydrogels for Subtle and Multimodal Temperature‐Strain Sensing in Wound Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A soft, dual‐channel hydrogel patch enables simultaneous detection of wound temperature and strain by integrating ion‐diffusion‐mediated thermoelectric and resistive sensing. The conformal design maintains stable performance during motion, capturing subtle inflammatory and mechanical changes for continuous wound monitoring.

Omnipolar Magnetic Field Detection by Superlattice‐Based Hall Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic‐field‐induced electronic switching is demonstrated in unit‐cell‐engineered La0.7Sr0.3MnO3–BiFeO3 superlattices. Distinct substrate terminations modify magnetic and transport properties. Hall resistance measurements show omnipolar, hysteretic anomalous Hall switching above the Curie temperature, arising from Fe─Mn interfacial exchange, enabling

Support‐Controlled Reaction Pathways via Dynamic Sulfur‐Mediated Interfaces for Selective Urea Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sulfur‐doped graphitized carbon nanofibers act as adaptive catalyst–support platforms, enabling dynamic sulfur‐mediated reconstruction and strong metal–support interactions. This unique behavior enhances catalyst stability and controls reaction pathways, achieving highly selective urea oxidation (∼92% N2) coupled with efficient hydrogen evolution ...

The impact of large fires in boreal drained peatlands in western Finland: Ecohydrological drivers and carbon and nitrogen loss

open access: yesGeoderma
Climate change, characterized by more frequent drought periods along with anthropogenic activities, may increase the occurrence and severity of peatland wildfires in the boreal region.

Electrospun Wood‐Derived Biopolymers as Electrodes in Electrochemical Energy Storage Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrospinning transforms wood‐derived cellulose and lignin into architecturally defined, binder‐free carbon electrodes with tuneable porosity and functionality. This review shows how fibre design enables decoupled charge and mass transport, enhancing performance across battery systems, while identifying key challenges in spinnability, scalability ...

Hierarchical Primary‐Secondary Coordination Synchronizes Ion Flux and Sulfur Redox in Solid Polymer Electrolytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Hierarchical coordination engineering redistributes Li+ from anion‐dominated pairing toward polymer‐mediated binding. Strong primary sites promote salt dissociation, while distributed secondary sites sustain dynamic hopping pathways. This coordination landscape couples ion flux with polysulfide conversion, suppresses transport‐conversion decoupling ...
