A comparative study of circulating tumor cell isolation and enumeration technologies in lung cancer
Lung cancer cells were spiked into donor blood to evaluate the recovery rates of the following circulating tumor cell (CTC) enrichment technologies: CellMag™, EasySep™, RosetteSep™, Parsortix® PR1, and Parsortix® Prototype systems. Each method's advantages and disadvantages are described.

Cell‐free and extracellular vesicle microRNAs with clinical utility for solid tumors
Cell‐free microRNAs (cfmiRs) are small‐RNA circulating molecules detectable in almost all body biofluids. Innovative technologies have improved the application of cfmiRs to oncology, with a focus on clinical needs for different solid tumors, but with emphasis on diagnosis, prognosis, cancer recurrence, as well as treatment monitoring.

The Variable Stars from the OGLE-III Shallow Survey in the Large Magellanic Cloud [PDF]
We describe variable stars found in the data collected during the OGLE-III Shallow Survey covering the I-band magnitude range from 9.7 mag to 14.5 mag. The main result is the extension of period--luminosity relations for Cepheids up to 134 days. We also detected 82 binary systems and 110 long-period variables not present in the main OGLE catalogs ...

The Economics of Rotational Grazing in the Gulf Coast Region: Costs, Returns, and Labor Considerations, Phase II [PDF]
Profitability and labor associated with rotational grazing at three stocking rates and continuous grazing at a medium stocking rate are compared. On a per-acre basis, profits are lowest for low stocking rate rotational grazing.

Non-speech oro-motor exercise use in acquired dysarthria management : regimes and rationales [PDF]
Non-speech oro-motor exercises (NSOMExs) are described in speech and language therapy (SLT) manuals, and are thought to be much used in acquired dysarthria intervention, though there is no robust evidence of an influence on speech outcome.

This study demonstrates that KRAS and GNAS mutations are more prevalent in patients with resected intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN) compared to those under clinical surveillance. GNAS mutations significantly differ between the two patient cohorts, indicating that their absence may serve as a potential biomarker to support conservative ...

Layering and wetting transitions for an SOS interface [PDF]
We study the solid-on-solid interface model above a horizontal wall in three dimensional space, with an attractive interaction when the interface is in contact with the wall, at low temperatures. There is no bulk external field. The system presents a sequence of layering transitions, whose levels increase with the temperature, before reaching the ...
