Bremsscheiben aus keramischen Verbundwerkstoffen (CMC) fuer Schienenfahrzeuge Abschlussbericht

open access: yes, 1998
Besides their high weight, conventional cast brake discs have an insufficiant tribological lifetime determining disadvantage. C/C-discs are no alterantive. The goal of the R+D program was to develop and manufacture and to test brake discs made of ceramic

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Nichtkonventionelle ohmsche Kontaktsysteme fuer III-V-Halbleiter-Schichtsysteme Schlussbericht

open access: yes, 1995
Ohmic multilayer contact systems with diffusion barrier layers are investigated which should show improved long-time and/or temperature stability. The investigations concentrate on the system Au/Pt/Ti/ a-WSi_xN_y/Au/Ge/Ni-n-GaAs. Besides that the systems

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Curcuma xanthorrhiza extract and xanthorrhizol ameliorate cancer-induced adipose wasting in CT26-bearing mice by regulating lipid metabolism and adipose tissue browning

open access: yesIntegrative Medicine Research
Background: Cancer cachexia—characterized by anorexia, body weight loss, skeletal muscle atrophy, and fat loss—affects nearly 80% of cancer patients and accounts for 20% of cancer deaths.

Control of sudden death in cultivated proteas from the Southwest of Western Australia

open access: yes, 2004
Phytophthora cinnamomi Rands is a common and devastating pathogen of cultivated proteas worldwide. Webb (1997) described a Sudden Death plant disease of proteas in Western Australia (WA) protea plantations.
