Profiling neoadjuvant therapy response in rectal cancer using meta‐analysis of publicly available transcriptomic RNA‐seq datasets

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates publicly available transcriptomic datasets to identify molecular signatures associated with response to neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy in locally advanced rectal cancer. By analyzing a combination of multiple cohorts with bioinformatics approaches, we reveal biological pathways and immune‐related features that may improve ...

p190A/ARHGAP35 and p190B/ARHGAP5 proteins in endometrial cancer: a novel cancer‐relevant paralog interplay

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study identifies ARHGAP5, in addition to the frequently mutated ARHGAP35, as significantly mutated in endometrial cancer. Mutations in both genes co‐occur and are associated with their correlated downregulation. Functional CRISPR studies show that both paralogs regulate similar pathways, including actin cytoskeleton organization.

Effect of aripiprazole on mismatch negativity (MMN) in schizophrenia. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
BACKGROUND: Cognitive deficits are considered core symptoms of the schizophrenia. Cognitive function has been found to be a better predictor of functional outcome than symptom levels.

Sensory auditory processing and intuitive sound detection : an investigation of musical experts and nonexperts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The auditory system can detect occasional changes (deviants) in acoustic regularities without the need for subjects to focus their attention on the sound material.

Engineering IL‐4 resistant proinflammatory human myeloid cells for cancer immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a scalable workflow to generate proinflammatory human myeloid cells. CRISPR/Cas9‐edited CD34+ hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells were expanded and differentiated with M‐CSF. Deletion of STAT6 or STAT6/NFKB1 enhanced macrophage proinflammatory gene expression and cytokine secretion in the presence of IL‐4 while maintaining antibody ...

Modelling trial-by-trial changes in the mismatch negativity.

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2013
The mismatch negativity (MMN) is a differential brain response to violations of learned regularities. It has been used to demonstrate that the brain learns the statistical structure of its environment and predicts future sensory inputs.

Event-related potential studies of somatosensory detection and discrimination. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This thesis contains four studies, the first examining methodology issues and four subsequent ones examining somatosensory cortical processing using event-related potentials (ERPs). The methodology section consists of 2 experiments.

A new flow chip in combination with multiphoton microscopy as a protocol for longitudinal 3D imaging of tissue calcification under shear stress

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Miniaturized flow chip platform enabling continuous perfusion and longitudinal multiphoton 3D imaging of vascular smooth muscle cell constructs under physiological flow. Brightfield imaging guides region selection, while CellTracker Green and mRuby‐labeled fetuin‐A visualize cells and mineral deposition, respectively. Magnesium supplementation markedly

Aplicabilidade do Mismatch Negativity na população infantil: revisão sistemática de literatura

open access: yesAudiology: Communication Research, 2017
RESUMO Introdução Mismatch Negativity (MMN) é um potencial eletrofisiológico que mede a habilidade do cérebro em discriminar sons, independente da capacidade atencional e comportamental.
